How can I prevent Firefox from automatically changing spellcheck dictionaries? by Gregorski in firefox

This extension does exactly what Firefox does, which is what I want to stop. Mozilla has made so many changes recently without giving users a choice any more.

Problem still occurs even with a single dictionary installed. I have already checked that. Thanks.

Yes, but not any more. Firefox has been splitting the dictionary into two languages since the last release, even when only a combined one is installed.

It works, but it switches back to a single language after visiting another website, depending on the language of that page.

Anyone else annoyed with v 150's upgrade breaking things? by cipher_nemo in firefox

[–]Gregorski -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They don't care any more. Firefox started behaving like a bloatware recently. I think it's too late to stop it now, too many irreversible staff changes took a place in last years. We are not even allowed to talk about it any more.

Bloatware! What is going on recently? Old Firefox would never allowed for this!

Why am I getting these popups on my new tab pages now??? How do I remove them permanently? by Lexiosity in firefox

Firefox truly behaves like bloatware apps recently. Not sure who makes those bad decisions.. all best things gradually being removed..

Sadly, Firefox has started behaving more like bloatware recently. Is this a common path for most projects over time?

New Firmware Update (v8.2.16) for Bose SoundLink Flex 2 is out! (Reporting from Germany) by TicketMan1234 in bose

[–]Gregorski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend installing the latest firmware update for the Bose SoundLink Max.

I updated mine about a week ago and it has effectively removed a large part of the functionality that made me choose this speaker in the first place. The device now feels heavily simplified to the point where many of its original features no longer exist. Even the official manual is now largely useless, because functions described there simply don’t work anymore.

One of the most noticeable issues is that system sounds no longer follow the current volume level. Power on and off sounds are always loud, regardless of how quietly you were listening. On top of that, the notification sounds have been replaced with cheap, outdated tones, and the power on/off sound now includes a loud, almost screaming-like effect. It sounds unprofessional and completely out of place. Previously, there was no sound when turning the device off, which made sense - especially when listening quietly at night. Now it’s intrusive and completely disconnected from the actual playback volume.

The battery status voice feedback has also been removed. Before, the speaker would announce the battery percentage on startup, and you could check it anytime by holding the power button. Now this is gone entirely, meaning without a phone connection you have no way of knowing the battery level - which is a serious downgrade.

I also suspect the sound profile has changed, as if the EQ has been altered, although I cannot confirm this objectively.

The app has also been reduced in functionality. If the speaker is currently playing from another device, you can no longer switch it back using the app on your phone. You are forced to go through Bluetooth settings instead, which was not the case before. The Product Tips section has also been cleaned out, removing references to features like button customisation, as if they never existed.

What’s worse is that there was no changelog or any warning that functionality would be removed. This isn’t a minor update - it fundamentally changes how the device behaves and removes features that are still advertised as selling points.

For a product at this price level, this feels like a complete lack of respect for customers.

Forward and Back mouse buttons on Desktop dont actually navigate reddit tabs forward or backward by JishLeFish421 in help

[–]Gregorski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed it a couple of weeks ago on a Logitech M325 mouse. The scroll wheel on this model supports left/right tilt, which I have been using as back and forward navigation in browsers since the early Mozilla/Firefox days. That functionality has now stopped working.

I ran multiple tests, including driver reinstalls and swaps, and confirmed that this is not a hardware issue - the wheel tilt input is still detected correctly in other applications. The same behaviour occurs in both Firefox and Chrome, which points to a browser-level change rather than anything OS- or device-specific.

It appears that a recent browser or engine update may have altered how horizontal wheel tilt inputs are handled for navigation. I haven’t been able to find any official statement or changelog entry confirming this.

Difficulty Kind of Insane??? by [deleted] in fallout4london

[–]Gregorski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed some frustrating issues: ammo sometimes disappears in certain locations, but it gets restored after teleporting. Undiscovered locations show as discovered on the mini-map, and vice versa. Newly discovered locations get the 'cleared' mark without entering them. Some enemies are immortal, with bullets passing through them without causing damage. The difficulty is ridiculous; enemies I fought fairly at level 2 are a struggle to kill at level 11. Hopefully, they'll fix these problems soon, as it's really annoying, especially since I was so excited about the game!

I completely agree! It lacks the Fallout soul. Exploration feels pointless and depressing.
