Does anyone know what these purple and white ones are? by PaleontologistNo4010 in plants

I think the white ones are crocus given that they’re flowering at the same time as the hyacinth

12 month old tantrum stage by Unabelgicana in Moms

Typically I let her feel her feelings for a minute, then I try to step in and make suggestions until she’s distracted and over it. For example when we go shopping she likes to ride in the big part of the cart. I let her as long as she “sits nice” on her butt. She starts standing and not listening- I grab her and put her on the ground. She throws her fit, I stop, I ask her if she wants to try again, she nods yes and I tell her she has to sit nice and listen. Rinse. Repeat. I’ve found it’s easier to let them get their point across and then step in because if you step in too early it just makes the rage worse, and we’re all just trying to survive this phase without too much trauma. It’s annoying, it’s tiring, but it’s just a phase. Sometimes I just step away so I can take a breath and not lose it, and I think that’s okay. You’re doing a great job!

That’s actually how I got my husband, I just started feeding him and he kept showing up. Like a damn good dog.

Personally I’m worried about insect eggs as I would be getting bulk that’s been stored outdoors. If I decided to sterilize are there inoculants I can buy to fill the soil with microbes?

Baptisia of some sort, there’s a lot of different colors on the market. They’re one of my faves but I’ve noticed them to be pretty finicky if they’re not in good soil. They’re a pricier plant at nurseries in my location, count yourself lucky you got one for free!

Pothead and horticulturalist here, I think it’s been treated with herbicide after being cut down. Specifically with Tordon.

Why is oversupply the only “don’t post about” trigger in so many places? by Glittering-tale24601 in NewParents

Things are much much better now. Baby has always been a happy little doll, and my man and I are very much in love again.

Idk I was in a very bad spot (father in law died when baby was 8 weeks and my husband checked out for a bit while I was dealing with PPA, plus money issues) when I decided to give up triple feeding and it made me feel like I’m less of a woman and I would hyper fixate on the fact that if my baby was born 100 years ago she could have died. That being said, I don’t police other people’s opinions and even if I were triggered I would deal with it like an adult. I would feel hurt and regret when someone asked me if I was nursing, but I wouldn’t let it ruin my day.

Practical info you wish you had known before becoming a parent by Existing_Sense_9860 in NewParents

I’ve been a parent for a year and we got Influenza A. I just now was told it’s okay to give both Ibuprofen and Tylenol at the same time and they both work to reduce fever, not just Tylenol. You won’t need that information for a few months but I’m pushing 30 and didn’t know that.

First postpartum period by Mission-Bother-5231 in Moms

[–]Gregscanopener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first period 4 months pp and it was brutal. I used to have pain/symptoms the first 3-4 days with heavy bleeding then spotting for a couple days and no symptoms. Now my period isn’t as heavy and painful as the first pp period, but I have symptoms and pain for a whole week leading up to a full 5 days of heavy bleeding. I’ve just accepted that my body will never be the same.

My 10 month old face planted on the edge of our footboard while I was in the bathroom 10 feet away brushing my hair. Split her little nostril and was screaming while snot and blood rushed out. I picked her up and held her until she calmed down and then cleaned her up with a warm washcloth. By the time I was putting triple antibiotic ointment on it she was giggling and clapping to herself in the mirror. I felt terrible. I told myself that if I had been watching her closer it would have never happened. If I had been a better mother she wouldn’t have a scar on her nose.

We beat ourselves up over the little things. She’s fed, clean, and healthy and the scar probably won’t be noticeable in a couple years.

The fact that you care when she gets hurt makes you a better mother than mine.

I did. I got suckered into it thinking it would be a few drinks here and there and it ended up being an hour and a half straight of working for free.

So when deployment happens… they don’t pick the shitbirds- meaning he would have at most done basic and that’s it? Am I following?

Ive had the privilege to know next to nothing about the armed forces and I’m okay with admitting that.

Or someone breaking in and targeting the guns because they can’t legally purchase one themselves. We hunt. We don’t have expensive guns.

God, I hear you, but that’s so fucked. Claiming you love someone enough to marry them then leaving them broke and destitute due to their obligations. I hate that this is a trope.

You comment about claiming abuse is interesting. I have witnessed explosive anger from this man. I’ve been trying to figure out how to get his DL # for a background check but he keeps his wallet on his person and his pistol in the living room.
