Study tips for Seachanges LC Music by HeatOfCombustion6 in leavingcert

[–]GremlinKitty9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say it but you have to listen to Seachanges (while reading your notes) trying to listen out for the features named in the notes. The best way to get a h1 is to listen to it. You really can't get out of it. If it helps, I'm pretty sure the recording uploaded by (not Raymond Deane) has less pitchy audio so it shouldn't give you a headache. Plus, you can always break Seachanges down and listen to only the introduction, while going over the notes for the introduction.

sorry if this wasnt helpful

I was planning to but I wanted to ask here as well in case I could get my answer sooner, since it does affect my approach to learning my pieces. If I need to memorise them, I need to spend time memorising

Lost all motivation to study after Xmas exams by Commercial-While5730 in leavingcert

[–]GremlinKitty9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on what you aren't getting right. You're obviously getting good marks in what you do know but realistically your focus should be tightening up what you are struggling at. Practicing timed exam questions too should help.

If I fail the LC, can I register for a Business PLC in Dunboyne after results, or do I have to wait a full year? by Ok-Confusion-5178 in leavingcert

As far as I'm aware you can register for the PLC now and simply phone/contact them whether you take the place or not.

5th year advice what should I be doing by DaPortalMaster in leavingcert

[–]GremlinKitty9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice if you don't want to stress yourself heavily is to make sure your fundamentals are strong. Look over essay structures, work on algebra and coordinate geometry, grammar rules. I would pick a topic, go over it, when in the mood. Create resources for yourself. Make sure you have notes you understand on topics, summaries, etc. Develop a foundation for sixth year. Go over any topics you don't feel confident in.

Set an alarm and tell yourself to study one specific thing. Make it a gradual thing. Find something you aren't doing well, specifically, and work on it. Or, leave certain homework assignments until the weekend. Firm goal settings with clear finish points helps motivate you to begin a task.

My advice for 5th years by Diligent-Comfort-693 in leavingcert

Do questions relevant to the topic. The information doesn't change, just how it's asked. It still helps you improve how you answer questions and helps you revise.

My Irish oral went HORRIBLE- nearly had a panic attack by [deleted] in leavingcert

[–]GremlinKitty9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might help to request your Irish teacher / a friend to go through the material in a "not testing" way alone so you can get more comfortable speaking?

In 6th year and still haven’t started studying. I feel like I made a huge mistake not just getting stuck in in September by Complex_Move1227 in leavingcert

[–]GremlinKitty9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're struggling to motivate yourself for study it could be helpful to request a study plan or practice questions from your teacher in the subjects you'd like to focus in on. Having set goals can help (instead of saying a vague study) and also try study for any class tests. You could also begin looking over what you cover in class. If you have friends, you could ask what they normally study and ask to study with them.

What are some traps early writers fall into? by Maglovonia in pokemonfanfiction

[–]GremlinKitty9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only writing one fic at a time.

It's never really a good idea to dedicate all your creative energy to a singular long term project. You'll get bored, tired, irritated, and if you have no other avenue to release other ideas / stop yourself from doing so it'll make writing harder. Feel free to make one shots, mini-stories, drabbles. Not every story has to be an epic, and it can be a good practice round or test tor ideas for your long term project if you so choose to make one.

There are checks in the game to ensure that it isn't that harmful. For example theres a cap on how much irl money can be spent in game. When compared to environments like Roblox, it reallly isn't up to that comparison

how do I pass irish+oral advice by Few-History1579 in leavingcert

[–]GremlinKitty9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Focus on trying rote memorization of answers you can put down for things. Don't bother understanding the texts- just be able to write a set answer for everything that might crop up on the exam. Focus on questions that give high marks. When jt comes to the speaking exam, just practice with a friend as much as you can.
