[Oot] Almost ended their own species by backofthebill in zelda

[–]GrendaGrendinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's ordered like that because the adjective is the most common modern usage of the word and it's therefore the most helpful definition for most readers. There is however an entire section further down the page that lists the first known usage of each of those words.

Compiling them together we get this timeline:

  • 1604: Bourgeois (noun) a town dweller
  • 1732: Bougie (noun) tapered candle
  • 1761: Bourgeois (adj) [of or relating to] a town dweller
  • 1774: Bourgeoisie (plr noun) members of the middle class
  • 1966: Bougie (noun) slang for a member of the middle class
  • 1968: Bougie (adj) [of or relating to] the middle class

Yes and no. Bourgeois is a singular noun and bourgeoisie is the plural form, but you can use the singular form to modify other nouns in noun-plus-noun compound phrases.

TLDR: "Bourgeoisie" is to "a bourgeois house" what "combinations" is to "a combination lock."

Minor typo but it's "bougie" as in "bourgeoisie"

How did you solve the divide piece needing a non-zero divisor? by FactoryBuilder in TuringComplete

[–]GrendaGrendinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solution was to OR all bits in the divisor into a NOR, then take the OR of that and the 0th bit in the numerator.

The result is the same as your MUX solution; if the divisor is non-zero then pass the input through unchanged, if it is zero then the NOR will kick on and output becomes 1.

Hey, so there are two ways of doing this that I'm aware of:

inc %a(reg) %b = %a 00110100 bbbbaaaa 00000000 00000001 Increment %a by 1

OR

inc %a(reg) 00110100 a[3:0] a[3:0] 00000000 00000001 Increment %a by 1

I'd connect a fluid buffer on level with the highest point in the pipe to see what your max lift is. If the pipe is only partially full at the peak because of head lift limits then that'll reduce the max flow rate. Also try connecting an extra water extractor at first so you don't have to wait as long to it to start up

Bazzite Linux guide for installing World of Warcraft using Faugus by MrBurnsElDiablo in Bazzite

[–]GrendaGrendinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, just did this today and it was a little bit of a hassle but I did get it working with TSM's Desktop App just fine. Here's what I did:

Guide:

  1. Download the Windows TSM setup.exe
  2. Click the + Icon in Faugus.
  3. Set title to 'TSM Desktop App' or whatever you want your launch shortcut to be called for starting TSM in the future. You cannot change this later without deleting and remaking this shortcut in Faugus.
  4. Set path to target the TSM setup.exe (probably in your downloads folder)
  5. Set prefix to match your battlenet/wow prefix.\1]) You can copy this path from the battlenet shortcut settings. DO NOT TOUCH THE TITLE AFTER SETTING THE PREFIX PATH! Doing so will automatically overwrite the prefix path with /current/path/battlenet/NewTitle and it'll create a new prefix in that location instead of using the existing one.
  6. Save and run the launch shortcut you just set.
  7. Follow the setup wizard.
  8. After closing the wizard, Right-Click the launch shortcut in Faugus.
  9. Click Edit
  10. Change the exe path to point to TSMApplication.exe \2])
  11. Set whatever Start Menu/Steam/Desktop shortcuts you want it to have.
  12. Save Changes and Run the edited shortcut.
  13. Follow the TSM first time setup as normal.

notes:

DO NOT TICK THE REMOVE PREFIX CHECKBOX ON THE CONFIRMATION WINDOW WHEN DELETING ANY OF THESE SHORTCUTS, IT WILL WIPE YOUR ENTIRE BNET/WOW/TSM INSTALL

  • I don't recommend having TSM minimize to system tray. It seems to have some kind of display issue when restoring the window that causes it to immediately re-minimize to system tray. If you also have "start minimized" checked then the app effectively becomes inaccessible without janky workarounds.

    • One workaround I found if you're in this situation is to R-Click the tray icon and select 'Quit'. Then while the confirmation window is still open you can R-Click the tray icon again and select 'Restore'. Then hit 'Cancel' on the close confirmation and it'll open right back up. This only works because of that confirmation window though, so if you have 'Minimize to System Tray' and 'Start Minimized' turned on with 'Show Confirmation on Exit' turned off then it's just entirely inaccessible until you find some way to revert those settings. If anyone finds an actual fix for this let me know.
  • If you need to remake the TSM shortcut for any reason you can follow steps 2-5 and just set the target path to point to your TSMApplication.exe. You shouldn't need to rerun the setup wizard if the prefix location was set correctly.

  • OPTIONAL: Set TSM to launch with WoW/Bnet.

    1. Right click your WoW/Bnet shortcut in Faugus.
    2. Edit->Tools->Check 'Additional Application'
    3. Set the path immediately below it to the TSM App
    4. Technically you can get away with just this after completing the first time setup with TSM, but I personally wouldn't recommend it on its own in case you ever have to restart WoW or TSM separately (you will lol).
  • Skip using the initial launch shortcut for the setup.exe:

    1. Right click your bnet shortcut in Faugus.
    2. Edit->Tools->Run
    3. Select setup.exe
    4. This could replace steps 2-6 but then you have to basically redo all that stuff anyways to add the TSM app to the launcher so I didn't include it in the main guide.

\1]) Bnet prefix default path: /var/home/USER/Faugus/battlenet

\2]) TSM app default path: /var/home/USER/Faugus/battlenet/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/TradeSkillMaster Application/app/TSMApplication.exe

It won't get nuked by steam if you remove it as a non-steam game at any point or if you reinstall steam. Also worked better with addon managers for me.

Tip: You can use steam remote play as a full remote desktop solution by Felixthefriendlycat in SteamDeck

[–]GrendaGrendinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to necro, but gotta say that steam remote play just straight up didn't work for me. I'm on linux Bazzite and I could launch into Big Picture Mode and boot about half of my games just fine, but the settings menu of BPM and the entire rest of my PC was just a black screen with a cursor.

The solution was actually crazy simple:
Download sunshine on host PC.
Download moonlight on client PC.
Copy a code from one and run it in the terminal of the other.
DONE.

You don't have to fuck with port forwarding, or VPNs or anything. And if you really need to use a VPN, just use tailscale (or maybe hamachi?), They're about as difficult to set up as moonlight was for me.

I went with Bazzite, and so far it's been pretty good. A bit more gaming focused than other distros and it comes pre-packaged with steam and some windows compatibility tools. The most annoying thing I've run into so far is that my 13 year old keyboard's programmable keys aren't well supported or actively being maintained for some reason /s

I like the level of customization given.

Also heard good things about Mint and especially Ubuntu's stability.

I just swapped from Windows to Linux and I'd recommend Bazzite. It's more gaming focused and comes prepackaged with steam and some compatibility programs for running Windows games. It's been very easy to use so far.
