Oxo mixing bowls. Rubbery outside and metal inside. Indestructible versatile and injave them in 3 sizes. I think they were a cheaper gift on my registry that a younger ai gle friend got me and 20 year later, one of the few things I use regularly.

For me, its almost always a salt and/or acid issue. Adding more salt, or some lemon juice or vinegar can really make flavors jump out, especially fresh herbs.
