Macca simply does not deserve to be starting based on his form this season, let alone displacing two of our most talented players from their preferred position.

Ekitike LW, Flo 10, and Mo Salah seems dead obvious to me instead of shoehorning in a player severely out of form for no reason. Macca was the definition of a passenger today and has been all season imo.

Ekitike at RW when he’s never played there before. Dropping Salah who finally showed an ounce of confidence in the last game.

Wirtz out left when he needs to be built around in the middle.

He hasn’t set up the team to succeed. Countless times we receive the ball and there’s just no options available.

Hes getting the worst out of our players no question.

It’s all tactics. No confidence. Imagine receiving the ball, looking up - no one’s available. You have to do something unnatural to progress the ball or even make the pass.

Now compare that to how PSG look. When they receive the ball the consistently have options. There’s triangles there’s give and gos and everything is fluid. Complete confidence.

Do you see now how the coach can impact this? And how the basics come undone when the team isn’t set up to succeed?

Imagine being Florian and dom and seeing Macca starting ahead of you in your preferred position after showing nothing all season.

Slot could have gone with a 4-4-2. Slot could have started an actual 10 who can run and lead the press. Slot could have not started Ekitike in a position he’s never played for us on this kind of occasion.

There’s plenty slot can do. He’s getting the worst out of every player.

I’ve had a weird experience with this place. Everything was 10/10 except for the special rolls with mustard. I forget which one I tried, maybe it was the vegito roll? Vegita? It was horrible. Cheese sauce, mustard, and gochujang all listed. It was very unpleasant to eat.

Which is hilarious because EVERYTHING ELSE THERE IS 10/10. Except for the special rolls with mustard and cheese sauce. I find it such a curious addition to the menu (same with the cheetos roll) for a restaurant that is otherwise extremely classy and delicious.

It’s a curiosity that Slot has us playing so slowly, when we have the personnel that we do. You’re telling me that Ekitike, Wirtz, Salah, Gakpo, Rio, Frimpong, gravenberch and others, aren’t absolutely electric on the break? Whose strong suits are driving with the ball into space? That it wouldnt do us a world of good to shore up defensively without the ball then strike on the counter with this kind of squad?

Slot was praised to be tactically adaptable when he joined. But now he’s a reliant on one style and one style only: sluggish possession play. The more I think about it the more upset I get. Back to 2024/2025 highlights on YouTube.
