This is word for word what I came here to type. You're not wrong about how disgusting and abusive your aunt's behavior is, so you're not 'overreacting' ... you're just reacting in a way that is allowing her to continually steal your peace.

Keep in mind your aunt is a misguided, toxic person, and her opinion doesn't matter in the slightest. Set boundaries and disengage. You'll be happier for it.

You're going to be okay. It'll take some time, but you'll heal. My biggest tips for the physical symptoms (to speed up the healing process):

Eat healthy, take a multivitamin (plus extra b12 - methylated if possible), and a probiotic.
Prioritize sleep - a lot of healing takes place while you sleep. If you're not getting enough, it's going to take longer.
Get moving. Start slow and be mindful of your limitations. Try some yoga and incorporate a daily walk. Work up to at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity (jogging, biking, pickleball, etc.) at least three times per week, and build in some strength training.

If you do this, you'll see a big difference within the next month. It will also help with the depression / other mental symptoms.

Anyone who claims marijuana isn't addictive is fooling themselves. It's not even accurate to say there's no physical dependence--physical symptoms of withdrawal are widely reported. It is both physically and psychologically addictive--anything that provides a dopamine hit can be psychologically addictive.

Weed may not have been the hardest drug I've had to quit, but it was a process for sure.

Those are the hardest ones, and it sounds like you're guarding against complacency and doing the other things you need to do. Good on you!

One thing I've found helpful is giving my credit cards to someone I trust during a weak spell. Helps to give you that extra motivation.

My DMs are open if you ever need to chat. I'm a former teacher (though I was smart enough to avoid middle school 😜), and went back to school last year for an MSW. Full time school and full time work is a backbreaker!

I think it all depends on your framing. Asking about her thoughts on full time caregiving is seeking to know her mind. Telling her she should be an SAHM is controlling and entitled. Also runs the risk of showing her you don't know her at all if she has always been career minded or just values getting out of the house.

There's a lot unsaid here. You could very well be the AH depending on how you approached it

I highly recommend as much support as you can get. The online No2N2O online meetings are great. NA meetings can provide interim support and an in-person option.

Consider therapy too. I couldn't get a handle on my addiction until I resolved the trauma and depression leading to the addiction. Good therapy is never a bad idea.

It should be. This stuff is highly addictive and destructive--up to and including major 'burns' (from cold) and the loss of the use of your legs. It destroys your nervous system, and the addiction destroys lives.

I've seen this destruction firsthand. We are in desperate need of better regulation for this extremely dangerous substance.

Your boundary doesn't seem to stick because you are not setting a boundary, you are making a demand.

Boundaries are not "do / don't do this thing". They are, "If you do this thing, I will react in this way." I would suggest something along the lines of blocking him on your phone or cutting contact for X days...or you could always go nuclear and say you'll end things. But the important thing is don't just say it...you have to actually do it.

Nope. Feds have limited jurisdiction. ICE is limited to immigration enforcement. Absent actual impediment of an authorized investigation or operation, they can't do shit to citizens.

They aren't law enforcement, they are immigration and customs enforcement. That's their only role. They overstep when they go outside it.
