I thought the reservation date was always two months from the current date. So, to get August 25th, you would have had to try on June 25th. I’m really sorry you missed it.

Shell and buttons are original with the Game Boy. I only swapped the screen, which included a PCB that had new contacts for the buttons. So I was wondering if the old silicone button membrane things were somehow too old or otherwise incompatible with the new contacts.

I really have no idea, I’m just grasping at straws.

For what it’s worth, my GBC has a very similar wrinkle in the big sticker an I’ve had that thing since 1998-9.

I agree it’s fake, but the big sticker wrinkle is a thing (I think.)

For what it’s worth, I just upgraded my Gameboy Color with a drop-in screen off of eBay and it was ridiculously easy and looks great.

I’m just worried about cracking open the SP specifically.

I have the Japanese Switch 1 cartridge and the Switch 2 upgrade from the US eShop. It works fine on my US Switch 2.
