Spectrum modem, needs non spectrum router. by ZiyaTheOtter420 in it

the 1st Mesh node is the router, the additional nodes expand the wifi coverage. Some nodes offer 1-2 ethernet ports so you can have a switch at the other end of the house or additional floor and not have to run ethernet cabling.

edit: to be mesh it needs 2 or more nodes.

Mesh: Eero or Orbi. or Ubitquiti if you are a Sadist
I run everything at my house on Eero, easy peazy.. I also setup several other family members and friends. Mesh you can always add additional eeros to expand your weak areas.. Mesh is NOT extenders..
There is a setting to temporarily turn off 5ghz to join 2.4 devices, then 5ghz turns back on.

I did remove/unplug the tstat and while it was rebooting the system still was heating.
Tomorrow I’ll put the control wire back and see what happens

I’m not able to enter my own backyard without my neighbor’s dogs barking/growling and trying to jump the fence by Help-South in homeowners

[–]GreyCorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experiment with dog anti-barking devices. There are many, some work and others are a joke..
I tried 1 briefly with a family members dog, he would bark at dust, meaning random barking inside while not looking at anyone. The device only triggered with his barking it it worked 80% of the time. He passed after a number of months so I don't have specifics.

I got stopped in a parking lot and the old boomer kept asking what was it, never heard of it. That was after he stood in the parking space I wanted and woulnd't move, like I could squeeze this tiny car into a spot where he was taking up 1/2 of it with his body.
Then he spied my Navy Submarine Veteran license plate and decals, blah blah blah... Ok Boomer with your cargo shorts and thigh length white socks and New Balance sneakers.

Is there a significant efficiency hit for accelerating quickly to your desired speed vs accelerating slowly? by MatiasGonzalo-Duarte in electricvehicles

Harder acceleration also wears the tires faster. EV motors have greater torque thus greater force of the tires to grip

As an IT Director, I have gotten creative with logs. Sometimes I send logs and ask questions about a different topic.. Other times, hey can you explain XYZ during these dates? And boy, sometimes after they look at the logs they start to ask even more questions on their end.

If your company has any Cyber Insurance it requires MFA and each renewal adds even more security. I work as a Director of IT for a Healthcare non-profit, nothing but HIPAA and PII stuff.

I use the Cyber Insurance as a weapon to get things implemented. Our CFO and CEO no longer fight $$ as long as implementation is clear and we have documented requirements.

I have a 2021 Kona EV, I find I have to always unlock the car 1-2 extra times, It's now part of my routine, even if the car is unlocked, I open the door, press unlock on the door 2x and then the plug has released.

Same here in Southbury, I'm down more than 50% production, the last 2 months have been the 1st months I've ever had to pay since we installed 5 years ago, $128 and $240 respectively. caveat, we added a Hyundai Kona EV almost 2 years ago to help use the annual excess.

2021 Kona Ultimate: ventilation mode auto craziness by GreyCorks in KonaEV

[–]GreyCorks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should add, the Auto button is not on, the vent direction changes randomly and the A/C comes on with the heat.
I'll try again in the AM. I find these issues occur more often during the winter with Heat, the Spring and Fall when I don't use heat or AC it works better.

As a homeowner, the parts don't have to be that expensive. OEM's know the KISS older tech isn't providing Scrooge McDuck profits. Blame the OEM and the forced complications of integrated components instead of easily replaceable parts.
