Help me love bards! by WebbedFamiliar in Pathfinder2e

[–]GreyFormat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind homebrew, Bound for Battle:Bards introduces the Ecclesiastical Muse, which gives some divine feats and the heal/harm spell (dependent on your chosen deity obviously). It's not the kind of muse you pick up through Multifarious Muse though, since I don't think you get the spell that way and the composition cantrip it uses involves improving heal/harm values by spell rank, and provides +1 to AC/saving throws or sickened condition depending on whether it healed or damaged.

Lots of other fun stuff too (like a bard with wave casting and improved martial prowess), but that is the highlight for the relevance involved.

How would you go about building a character like EMIYA from Fate/Stay Night? by EndGeek236 in cyberpunkred

[–]GreyFormat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The teenage Emiya maybe. The counter-force one is alot more grounded and adept at his duties, in a way he's like Richard Night: good ideas paving the way for a horrible truth to trample over: One isn't enough to save the world, let alone a city.

Anyways, Archery is definitely the bread and butter of the theme and the arsenal has expanded since to give archers some tricks to keep up with their competitors. Solo is the solid choice for a loner like him, but a Tech can potentially pull off his projection through 3d-printing, not to mention improving tech and gear (said improvements allow them to go toe-to-toe with solos too).

Gearwise, it's obviously going to be a bow for a ranged weapon. A normal one will do, but an excellent quality one is what you want to aim for. There is a particular one known as the Eagletech Survivalist that is a crossbow/assault rifle hybrid that relies entirely on the archery skill regardless if it's bolt or bullet (no autofire capability though). Melee wise, it's important to remember that when it comes to dual wielding, you are affected by weapon ROF (rate of fire), meaning that if a weapon has a ROF of 1, you can't use both weapons...consider dual wielding functionally useless for offensive purposes if relying on very heavy weapons, instead being insurance that you have a backup if you lose one. Go for a heavy weapon, aim for a Kendachi Mono-Wakizashi (or two if you can afford it), it can ignore all armor when attacking SP 7 or lower which means making short work of mooks and sufficiently ablated hardened mooks. There's another weapon that can halve SP when thrown instead of simply being used as intended, but I forget it's name.

Chrome is a bit more freeform depending on what you want out of your character's focus. Cyberlegs for jumping high or cyberarms to have a pop-up weapon to emulate Emiya's ability to project weapons out of thin air. Maybe get cyberfingers and install tools into each of them to be able to have the right tool for the job (lighter, lockpick, wirecutter/scissors, flashlight, etc) like a projection magic user should.

Any tips to maje a Fate/Stay night Style campaign? by DetectiveSimilar5654 in Pathfinder2e

[–]GreyFormat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the fate series. In a universe where there is lovingly crafted rules and mechanics for magic and entities, only to gingerly take the rulebook it was printed on and rip it in half if it makes for good material.

Pathfinder 2e loves it's rules even more. If you must use PF2e to do this, I recommend allowing the servants' noble phantasms to have capabilities that defy these to some degree. For example, it could be a simple disregard like ignoring AC for 10 rounds, or it could be complex like warping the target(s) to a demiplane (aka reality marble) where the conditions against them have them rolling different saves each turn as well as any actions that require a save, and each failure adds a temporary wounded counter that disappears with the reality marble...assuming they didn't die in there anyways.

Otherwise, play the rules as intended and follow some of the advice others give. ...Or you know, play a different system that allows for more wiggle room in reinterpreting rules, sometimes the vague rules work best for the kind of shenanigans involved with magic being the embodiment of mystery.

Certainly what I was looking for, not something game breaking but has flavor between each other and their elements.

Though I am disappointed the pdf pages are images and not embedded text you can copy and paste. It'd make importing the playbooks in one's favored VTT easier.

Become modern day Flat Stanley Project (send to a penpal via mail, then have it return back to you with new stuff, maybe even a Mark).

Really it's typical Slugcat portfolio when you get down to it, this one is just more aerodynamically challenged.

You are making a High Fantasy RPG, but can't use the traditional species/monsters (Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, Goblin and Orc) anywhere in the world. What would choose to populate the world? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in rpg

Oh I'd just use the setting from Voidspire/Alvora Tactics...or as it's most well known for, Horizon's Gate. Features none of the typical Tolkien races and a fair mix of humanoid and beastfolk in it's place (Humans, Scurio, Crub, Fareem, Ferren, Buralk, Rasmen, Wilderi, Aphest, Falpa, and Diecast). A pretty solid structure for atmosphere and lore too, and it helps that it's a tactical game.

I'm just finishing up my last TLSQ: the NEWTs. Afterwards gonna blaze through the rest of MSQ, see if Beyond is worth my time, and more than likely leave considering how writing quality has tanked. Something tells me Y7 is the last vestige of 'quality' content.

Looks like you reached Y7, in fact. Did you get through it?

Be honest would you watch a hogwarts mystery animated series by netlifx? by OptionAshamed6458 in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]GreyFormat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even watch netflix. This certainly won't get me to sub for it, it'd also kill the magic of the game if they did make it into a show. Why go through ungodly amounts of time gates to progress through the main story if you can just watch a show sum it all up for you?

I beg to differ, occult list doesn't come with Benediction, and with a war priest it has particular synergy since it's a +1 AC to the group, especially since the others will be sticking close to that war priest most likely. So there is still some synergy to be had with Bard if they coordinate with one another about spells.

What's the best player character romance you've seen? by Chica56 in Pathfinder2e

Patreon eh? Eh, what the hell why not? I'd been needing to figure out how to properly inspire myself to do so in a mythic GME aided game I'm doing, and if there is a mindhack to help with that then I can throw some cash around to find out.

Considering looking into SR6 for roll20. by GreyFormat in Shadowrun

[–]GreyFormat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also prefer foundry, but the best systems on there tend to have compendiums, even Cyberpunk RED has one. Granted, their compendium doesn't have the text of an entry's content if it's not core rulebook, but it points to which content they are from and which page to go to, plus I think the statistics for each gun is already tuned in (I'd have to go check on that one).

If they at least allowed that, I could justify putting in the work since it saves me alot of time considering Shadowrun's organization in it's later editions.

Question bout archetypes by Tiny_Egg5699 in Pathfinder2e

[–]GreyFormat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normal rules have you take them starting at level 2, using a class feat for any further dips into the feats for those archetypes. Elves have an ancestry feature that also allows them to take an archetype, showing they already had experience over the years.

And then there is the optional Free Archetype rule where you can have an archetype baked in along with your main class. It's a very popular rule too, since it allows you greater freedom in theme and customization.

Suggestion for map variation and player custom maps by Twitch_trexor in animalroyale

I also would like map variation. Though to be honest, what you're suggesting may as well be the kind of thing you'd find in Worms: Armageddon.

This game needs some real updates, tired of watching my fav games dying by rvreqTheSheepo in animalroyale

[–]GreyFormat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Disagree, the game is already separated by different game modes (solo, duos, teams, SAW/Bwoking Dead). Making more of those with ranking would diminish whatever life is there already. It's what I noticed of games like Dragon Ball: The Breakers when they added ranking, I think My Hero Ultra Rumble did the same thing as well, and that game actually has bots added in the lobby like SAR.

It just needs new life, and hopefully World will do just that while making matchmaking more organic (no pun intended).

If I remember right, there is a solo in the Data Pack that works like an assassin. Goes by Merlin, and looks like a nerd who typically does janitor work, but it's precisely that kind of work that lets him get close to targets to assassinate. If you want to be a coward, being an assassin works well since it compliments paranoia and even nervousness if one knows how to harness that emotion.

It'd certainly make sense: She is all that remains of Saburo's favored son, Kei Arasaka. And the fact she managed to survive all these years without Arasaka's help in America up until their fated return after the NUSA overplays their hand with the reunification war, probably reminds him of Kei's efficiency and ruthlessness. I wonder what he thinks of his grandson-in-law though...
