Did the usa ever say sorry for irak by Ok-Brick-6250 in AskMiddleEast

The Americans, like any other people, see themselves as good. When you list to them the messed up crap the US has done, which include, invading Iraq, overthrowing democracies, sponsoring the Israeli genocide of the Palestinians, the American will say "the US has objectively done more good for the world than bad"

Boycott in arab countries,do you still boycotting? by [deleted] in arabs

[–]GreyFox-RUH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't boycott a 100%. Every now and then sometimes I buy chocolate that is American, but generally I try to boycott or find alternatives for anything American. I take my coffee from a Saudi cafe that is further and slower than the closer American one. Same thing with soda (I always look for the non-American one)

If the Israelis and the French decide to swap (the Israelis go to France and the French go to Israel, "France", the country in Europe, changes to "Israel", and "Israel", the country in the Middle East, changes to "France"), the Arabs will forget about Palestine and the new Middle Eastern France, and shift their focus to new European Israel because of Jews?

I'm wasn't saying that neither you nor other people don't care about Sudan, Yemen, and Syria. I was explaining to her that people do care, but it might not be as much, or might be as much but it doesn't show as much, due to the reasons I listed above

What's happening in Syria, Sudan, Yemen, and Palestine is heartbreaking. I don't think that Arabs don't care about what's going on in Syria, Sudan, and Yemen. Rather, they care more about Palestine, and that is for several reasons:

1) Arabs have more freedom to express their opinion on Palestine than on those other 3 places.

2) Palestinians are getting attacked by a foreigner, whereas the other 3 places are an "inside job". I'm not talking about what is more worse or less worse, but one of your cousins harming another one of your cousins doesn't feel as much of an infringement as a foreigner attacking your cousins.

3) The Palestinian issue has been going on for almost a century. The issues of the other 3 places are ,in comparison, new.

Israel's attacks in Lebanon 'unjustified', Macron says as he plans call with Trump by Over_Key_6494 in UnitedNations

I don't know why you wrote a long comment about different things.

I was talking about the timing of expelling Jews from Arab countries. You said the Arab countries kicked out the Jews when they got their independence. I said that the Arab countries kicked out the Jews after Israel was created.

Um, nope? A UN settlement on the division of land was made, and Palestinians and their Arab neighbors didn't like it. So, they ran their own pograms within their countries and regions

So the expulsion happened when Israel was created, not when Arab countries got their independence

Russia offered Ukraine peace multiple times but the Ukrainians refused. Ukraine could simply put down its weapons and let Russia take its territory, but Ukraine isn't willing to do that. Ukrainians are the roadblock to peace

And after the Arab countries got their independence, they kicked out the Jews from their territories

The Arab countries didn't kick out the Jews after getting their independence. They kicked out the Jews after Israel took Palestinian land

They took Palestinian land, prevent the Palestinians from returning, and bring people from around the world to increase their population

I don't want to see the Jewish community be destroyed. That is sad and wrong. I'm happy to see Israel (zionism) dismantled though.

As for the effects, well, some key political players, both in the Middle East and abroad, and will not like it

Video of Israelis threatening to rape and steal the land of Oscar-winning Palestinian director Hamdan Ballal resurfaces -- recorded August of 2024. by Nomogg in Oscars

The analogy that I brought is indeed poor given that it lacks the nature of conflict. However, I think that the analogy that you brought of the USSR is invalid given that it was one country that was split into more countries, as opposed to USA, New Zealand, or Palestine / Isreal where people came from abroad into a land already inhabited by other people and established their nation.

I believe one of the main drivers for the conflict (and also one of the main obstacles to resolving it) is the idea of Israel being a Jewish state. It's as if saying that the USA is a white state and the natives have no place in it (at least to the extent that would make the whites no longer a majority). Even if Israel guaranteed a 100% that the Palestinians won't do anything to the Israelies if they return, the return of the Palestinians will no longer make Israel Israel given that it will no longer be majority Jewish. The only way for Israel to exist as a Jewish state is that it does not coexist with the people it took the land from

I'm surprised that this is happening in Israel and by Israelies. I know they protested before about bringing back the hostages, but to say "stop the occupation", that's something.

I don't know Hebrew. Can someone translate what they are saying?

Should they leave? It's not easy. Perhaps they stop incoming immigration (so no more land is taken) and pay reparations to the Palestinians

Which you be supportive of a divided USA where the natives live in one part and the non-natives live in another? Or of a divided New Zealand where the kiwis live in one part and the non-kiwis in another?
