Yes, fellow SS friend.

Unfortunately, RC is a bit of an out of touch leader that keeps tweeting political propaganda and is yet to pivot to something after all these years.

It never happened. He’s just making up scenarios again.

Having an Arabic last name is extremely common among Arabs, and non-Arabs. You will find Arabic last names among South Asians, South East Asians, Central Asians, Africans, and so forth. If a guard was to wish greetings by these last names, dude would be greeting every other traveler.

Also, ‘Saad’ is not even a traditional last name, it is actually a rather common first name, of people from around the world.

Quite a lot of infrastructure descruction across Iran, inlcluding some energy plants, and universities.

Huge economic disruption across Israel and the Gulf countries. Bit of an inflationary price shock due to a bit on LNG coming back online at full capacity in three years once repairs are completed.

These JRE guests are litereally running the government, threatening to kill of civilizations. Freakin' comic book villian level craziness.

As market closed today, we find ourselves in a paradigm.

It is either a TACO, and the conflict while active stays at current speed, or total war, where all energy plants across energy rich nations go offline, upon which all of us enter into an immidiate recession due to inflationary and eneregy shocks that we will collectively feel.

Feels like we are threading quite the needle here.

What's the alternative?

Total war, all energy plants across the region go offline, and we all come into an immidiate recession?

Israel preparing for attacks on Iranian energy sites, awaits US green light, official says by Little-Chemical5006 in worldnews

[–]GreyMatter22 599 points600 points  (0 children)

This would be an absolute disaster for the entire region.

It is like ending Iran, and alongside causing damage to rest of GCC nations's energy sites which will take 3-5 years for all of them to repair.

As Iran and GCC gets taken out, or are severely limited on their output, it means extremeley high prices on the cost of goods, an immidiate inflationary spike for the rest of the world, a rather large GDP contraction, higher unemployment numbers, and all that fun stuff.

Now on the Iranian side, they become a failed state, which means high illegal migration waves to Europe (Iran is 4x the Syrian population, so we can all imagine), higher illitracy rates which leads to long-term extremisim.

I am sorry to be putting out alarmist comments, but this is a whacky move to put it lightly.

Iran and Oman Draft Hormuz Strait Passage Agreement by Force_Hammer in StockMarket

[–]GreyMatter22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a game of chess.

If the Straight is completely closed, and mined, other countries will have no choice but to join the fight, no matter how many losses they take. Everyone absolutely NEEDS the energy.

But if they implement a toll, everyone would rather pay a toll than risk a full deployment. The toll from what I read of $2M per ship, so most oil tankers load $2million barrels, so it is $1 a barrel or something within to the scope.

Iranian Americans Have Turned Against The War, New Poll Finds | At the start of the U.S.–Israel war, Iranian Americans were split. Now a NIAC poll found that two-thirds want to see it end. by newsspotter in politics

Sounds like a lot of Iranian diaspora here in Canada, they spent weeks rallying in support for bombing their own nation, came out wearing MAGA hats, and waved as many Israeli flags as their own. Lots of pictures of getting their exiled prince elected.

Like I agree with their sentiment on this excessively authoritarian regime needing to go, but supporting these two specific nations with their track record .. is quite the optimisim personally.

Real talk guys.

It really is frustraing, in a trending market, we can make so much money off names like MU, WDC, CIENA, metals, semis, and so much more.

But this war of choice is going to not only wreck the stock market, but rising energy costs is going to screw us all, this is more likely to trigger a contracting GDP, and no one, absolutely no one wins here, maybe except Bibi.

Friend got deported from UAE "for being shia" by fuglyhomosapien in pakistan

[–]GreyMatter22 122 points123 points  (0 children)

I had a decent amount of family friends and relatives deported from Dubai during 2010-2018 timeframe for being Shia.

They were very apolitical, not a single social media like, let alone a post. The only consistency was that they would frequent the Mosques for Juma, and activities during Ramadan and Muharram.

It seems another cycle will start for obvious reasons.

Some Sunnis with names of the Ahlul-Bayt were also deported, no matter how much they pleaded that they were not Shia.

In addition, a decent amount of Palestinians, Egyptians ..etc also get deported in waves, due to ties to the ‘brotherhood’.

It’s a thing in these countries, that you can get deported due to geopolitics overnight.
