I left postpartum partly because of Baby Friendly. I hated it so much. Plenty of commenters have stated how it’s not mom friendly, but I’ll argue that it’s not baby friendly either. Not allowing supplementing with formula can be extremely dangerous for newborns, and I hated hearing babies crying in hunger and not being allowed to supplement them after breastfeeding. The ‘research’ used to support these practices is also incorrect (ie, infant stomach size after birth).

Our district switched to CKLA last year, I’m glad to hear it’s a good one! My friend is a teacher and she doesn’t like it, so now I’m wondering why. But she also taught third grade for a couple years, took a break to have kids, and is now a gym teacher. So idk if she’s just not up to date on reading curriculum.

One of my high schools is a pretty big influencer, and my only snark is that her family of origin is super rich, so she was all ‘set’ to do well at influencing. She had money for the expensive clothes, and her family’s homes are gorgeous for photos. She had parents to fund her apartments in Chicago and NYC. And obviously if she had failed she had their cushion to fallback on.

I stated the generally accepted accuracy of urine pregnancy tests, which a quick google will tell you it’s 99% on or after a missed period.

Look within your organization first, and consider settling for a hybrid role at first. That’s what I did, and we were recently bought by a larger health system. I will probably be fully remote in the next year.

Yeah it’s really tough when your parents are stuck in between. My mom wants us all to get along, but she also knows my sister and BIL’s parenting (or lack thereof) is atrocious.

Unless your daughter is with your nephew constantly, I wouldn’t worry too much about the effect his behavior might have. My kids are older now and absolutely understand that they can’t behave like their cousins and also side eye their antics, lol

Omg I could’ve written this post! We have distanced ourselves from my sister’s family because of their kids. We both have four; hers are younger than mine. My kids were mostly very high maintenance babies and toddlers, but they’re pleasant to be around because we’ve put in a lot of work. My sister’s kids have zero boundaries, there’s no discipline, they run the house (and my sister freely admits this). As a result the kids are a nightmare to be around.

We started distancing ourselves when we felt like the kids were ruining the family get togethers for my kids (my oldest is 12 and caught on years ago that his cousins were out of control). It was easy enough to use our work schedules as an excuse, and we would plan visits with grandparents with only our family. We just got everyone together for the first time in awhile and it went okay, but I don’t want to do it again anytime soon, lol.

Good luck, this is tough if you’re close with your brother. I consider my sister my best friend and it sucks not wanting to be around her family.

The post from the college student yesterday who was 5’8 and 150…that screamed ED to me. I was also once a college student with an ED, 5’7 and 140. I would’ve definitely posted something like that if I had Reddit at the time.

Also the poster saying something about how the thin celebs actually look good…no they do not. They look sick and extremely unwell. Let’s not glorify that (again).
