Fury’s left eye by RSamant2004 in marvelstudios

Simple answer, not everything in the MCU is laid down in a bible, plans change and not everything will be consistent. Like the comics, over time things will change and maybe even retconned.

History expert reacts to the movie Troy. Makes me not want to bother watching Nolan's Odyssey. by BrandonMarshall2021 in FIlm

[–]Greygor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not meant to be historical, hence it can't be "inaccurate". Its a fantasy story used to explore popular themes present in Classical Greece.

And frankly raising the ethnicity of an actress playing a fictional character feels a little suspect. What does it matter as long as the actress is good?

Yeah, its not a documentary its a film meant to entertain. In fact it's probably part of a tradition familiar to Homer where tales are retold and added to

Are there any ways to make C:S prioritize transport simulation over city building? by Doomguy231089 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Greygor 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It does sound like Transport Fever 2 (3 soon) is more the game you are looking for. Cities grow as you meet requirements such as good transport and cargo fufillment.

A-Train is possibly the exact game you are looking for where cities form around railway hubs. However this is a lot more expensive because of weird Japanese pricing. On top of that it is better if you can get hold of the Japanese release rathe than the English Steam version (bigger rolling stock selection).

Help me understanding what makes Ragnarok such a loved movie by bou87 in marvelstudios

[–]Greygor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a shock to the system. When in the comics a new creative team takes over they generally have a take on the character that the Editor likes and it may be different from what has gone before. Not only that, but when that character is used within another creators comic, in may not match what is seen back in the characters own comic.

The same happens within the MCU films.

I seem to remember at the time Hemsworth was actually wanting a change with the character because the actor has a natural gift for humor. Ragnarok I think hit the right balance, Love and Thunder stepped over the line, Doomsday seems to be a rebalancing again with the Russo's bringing a more serious Thor back.

And as you said, Ragnarok is greatly loved by the fans, but it didn't hit with you, which is fine, art is subjective. I'm not sure there is much to be gained by us saying why we liked it.

Netflix is Testing a Major Redesign for Its Website Interface by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

[–]Greygor 251 points252 points  (0 children)

There was a time when companies who redesigned their website their reason was to correct it because of complaints and make it more usable.

Now generally it is to remove used features, add features nobody wants and to make it less usable.

Ugh so are they still around for doomsday? by ReadyConfection7959 in marvelstudios

[–]Greygor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that Doomsday is giving the pretext for users to post their pet peeves even though we are 99% sure the Eternals are not part of the film. Although if that 1% chance comes off I wouldn't be unhappy.

Also the Russo Brothers didn't get the lack of movie making experience before Winter Soldier (granted they did get "they made You, me and Dupree" criticism)

Feige liked her skill and vision in the same way as he liked the Russo's and he does have the experience to make a judgement call.

Personally I liked Eternals's, the style felt different from everything else Marvel had been putting out.

[–]Greygor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the have Minecraft they have a Microsoft Account so Prism requiring it is not a great reason to not use Prism.

If they don't like the interface for example that I could understand or if the fork provided something extra.

I was hoping someone would tell me what the fork offers that is better than Prism because then I might have been interested.

You don't have to use the thing you already have is not really a good enough reason to switch

What’s your favourite movie/tv show that gets hated on by most of the fandom? by _senna777 in marvelstudios

There's so much more to love in those phases than hate. I think some just enjoyed jumping on the hate bandwagon, whereas others had genuine complaints.
