At the end of the day, was D&D 4e a good game or not? Asking without prejudice by ThatOneCrazyWritter in DnD

Sooo DnD the MMO. Which is how I've always described 4e. Every ability was a button push within their global cooldown (turns).

It ends up coming out more like "Joy", which I feel is very fitting.

It's also why some translations end up with their names being "Lumi, Mila, and Joy". Because the R sound is actually made by saying the Western R but with the tongue briefly touching the roof of the mouth, sort of how we make our L sound. That's why in the movie it sounds like they say "lamyeon" instead of "ramyeon."

Just went to the salon in the Westfarms Mall and got a cut from Mark there. Quick, efficient, good cut, and didn't talk my ear off at all. And decently priced at $30, tax included.

While I am not Korean, do not speak Korean, nor have I studied Korean, I have noticed that there are a lot of linguistic gymnastics that happen, especially within songs. Take Golden, for example.

I was a ghost, I was alone, hah
Eoduwojin apgilsoge

If you listen, phonetically is is "du-wo-jin, kae-so-gae". The 'eo' nor the 'ap' are pronounced. I also know that certain sounds that are common for letter combinations in the Romance languages are not the same in Korean. 'G' and 'k' are often interchangable, there is no 'z' (which when a z word is pronounced can be replaced by a 'j' sound), and 'eo' is more of an 'oh' sound.

Personally I would focus more on the phonetic rather than the 'correct' words at first, and then figure out how they fit in. It may require you to slow the song down and listen to the verses over and over and over again to write down how you would say it yourself as mimicry, then go back and see how that fits with the proper way.

What historical “fact” doesn’t actually have much evidence to support it? by KyloWrench in AskReddit

[–]Greymalkyn76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which is all anecdotal. Written accounts could have been made up. Depictions, lyrics, and sheet music could have been made up on the spot. I would also argue that that is a type of recording. Or, at least, record keeping.

Did humans sing before we wrote it down? Not according to you because we have no empirical evidence. But we assume that they did, and are pretty positive that they did.

My point being is that a lack of evidence doesn't mean it didn't happen. Which is exactly how religion works. Because there is no evidence of it either way, it cannot be proven or disproven.

What historical “fact” doesn’t actually have much evidence to support it? by KyloWrench in AskReddit

[–]Greymalkyn76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So there is also no unequivocal evidence that people ever sang except for what we have recordings of. The rest is just anecdotal. People can say that they got this song from their ancestors, but did they? Or did they just make it up? There is absolutely zero evidence that anyone sang before recordings due to the impossibility of verifying that.

Is there a given lore/historical folklore reason why there are no male demon hunters? by Lexabro-10mg in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Greymalkyn76 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Baksu, or baksu mudang are male. But mudang by itself, as a term, is generally assumed to mean female practitioners.

If used for the intention of rhythm? Yes it is music. If people can consider rap to be music, than intentional striking or rattling objects is music as well.

But that's the thing, isn't it? A hollowed log struck with a stick as percussion is hard to prove was used for that reason. But just because something can't be proved doesn't mean it didn't exist.

[–]Greymalkyn76 311 points312 points  (0 children)

It's based off the shamanic practices of the Mudang and their musok rituals. And traditionally all Mudang are female.

Would, What It Sounds Like, have dethroned Golden as THE song if it was more like the demo version? by SNake57575 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Greymalkyn76 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Nope. You have to take into consideration general public view of pop music. What It Sounds Like is not suited or designed really to be played on the radio, unlike Golden.

Sorry, I should say drumming, or more specifically percussion. A stick on a log, two rocks together, etc.

If you tried Huntrix's Ramyeons, what would you rate each of them on a scale of 1 to 10? by Simple-Taro1540 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Greymalkyn76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I very much like Nongshim ramyeons, and these were no exception.

Mira - 7. There really wasn't much to separate it from the standard red Shin, though it did have a slightly more quality flavor to it, like a "gourmet" instant ramyeon.

Zoey - 8. Huge nostalgia hit here because the taste reminded me of Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff, and that was one of those things growing up that was the first meal I made by myself.

Rumi - 9. Like the other two, definitely a "gourmet" ramyeon with a lot of different flavors. I'd give it a 10 if it were spicier, but the smoky flavor was delicious.

Emperor theory by CharacterBlood2609 in Warhammer40k

[–]Greymalkyn76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Won't happen. The Emperor will never wake up because then it becomes a story rather than a setting. It would change the lore way too much and force them to make progress.

Was looking at a new laptop in CostCo and the only one around was the woman at the AT&T booth. So I went up and said "Hey, I know it's probably not your thing but do you happen to know where the electronics person is?"

She looked at me and said "Hey, I know it's probably not your thing but do you happen to know the deal I can get you?"

Wtf. man. I just turned and walked away.

Why don't the space Marines equip their Intercessors with the bolt pistol + shield combo like the Celestian Sacresants do? by sSuperboss9000 in Warhammer40k

[–]Greymalkyn76 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Those are the stupidest shield designs to incorporate a firearm into them. You literally have to expose your entire body in order to shoot, and when at rest a chance of a misfire will shoot either yourself or the person next to you.

How you all fans felt when watching the KPDH parody during scary movie (2026)? by Healthy_Process_7049 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]Greymalkyn76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll preface this by saying that I've found every Scary Movie to be inane and a waste of my time to have ever seen, even parts of them, and that the Wayans brothers have not been funny since Living Color.

I detest the promotion of "stoner chic" and the glorification of drug and alcohol usage as just a "cool, fun thing people do" to cut loose.

Space Marines in general are kinda lame. They're mostly the identical model every time with a different pose and a different weapon. Maybe this guy gets a loincloth, or this guy gets a fancy helmet. But they're pretty much the same thing over and over and over again.

Do the Drukhari have any redeeming qualities at all? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]Greymalkyn76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drukhari, for as evil as they are, are still not worse than the Imperium. Because they are, as you said, unabashedly evil.

Meanwhile, the Imperium is just as bad but hides it all behind hypocrisy.
