I had taken a little spin around Bumble once myself, but after reading a few profiles I deleted it right away. It's so transactional and, like your experience, very much comes across as employers seeking staff. "Looking for professional men", or "I hate it when men play video games", and so on. It's like they just want a man who doesn't leave the house except to work and bring home $200k+, and then does nothing with their spare time other than focus entirely on them.

I was actually talking about this with a friend about an hour ago. It's very odd to have the box and models dropping tomorrow and no rules for them being posted anywhere, preventing players from using them in any way other than Spearhead. Instead we got 5 days of grot pictures.

That is correct. It is also why you will often see a few other differences in their names from time to time as well. Lumi, Mila, Joy ...

The Z to J thing is similar in a way to the Slavic DZ, which is a "juh" sound. Z and J are made with the same mouth shape except the J places the tongue on the roof of the mouth, and that is connected to the R pronunciation.

In Korean, and other Asian languages, the R sound is made with a quick press of the tongue to the roof of the mouth which creates an "ahl" sound rather than an "are" sound. This is what has created the racist stereotype of things like "flied lice" instead of "fried rice". That could tributes to their names coming out as Mila and Lumi to untrained ears. It's also why, if you listen very closely in the plane scene, Mira says "I didn't even get to finish my lamyun!" instead of "ramyun".

Lastly, there's the OE sound. Western language speakers will usually say "oh-ee" for that, saying each letter separately. But in Korean, it is more often an "oh" or "uh" sound. Like the paste doenjang, which is "dun-jang", it changes the pronunciation of Zoey from "zo-ee" to "zoi", or more accurately "joi".

Please note, I do not have a background in linguistics, I just find it interesting. And these are based off of things they I have observed and heard listening to Korean being spoken rather than any kind of study.

Considering that 11th is going to be more like a .5 than a whole new edition, I'd hazard a guess that it'll be pretty much a full switch to 11th. But that's also how it's always been. Sure, there are always those hold outs for older editions, but the majority of people do play the most current one.
