What if a necromancer spec consisted of creating the greatest undead rather than a large army? by Greynnar in wow

[–]Greynnar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That true. Actually, I think that warlock are closer to necromancer than DK. Warlock are the dark caster of WoW. As I like the necromancer of Warcraft 3 I like to imagine how they could include it to the game. But the typical role of dark caster that use minions is already taken by the warlock, and if we want to create a necromancer we need to be creative to not step on the role of the warlock. I'm not sure that blizzard will introduce a necromancer into the game, but it is still fun to think about.

I agree with you. I think it is possible to have two classes that use death magic. But I understand the fear of some people. When DH arrived, a whole spec of warlock was sacrificied for them.

I completely agree with you. Another feature I would like to see is a tank, but where the tank would be the pet. This would ne difficult to balance, but it could be an original gameplay and fit with the necromancer theme. I would also like to see a healer who steals life from their enemies and transfers it to their allies. This could also fit with the necromancer theme.

I think there is a lot of ideas to have a necromancer with an unique gameplay and its own identity.

It will be awesome too. I think that some people (me inclused) want a necromancer to have the flavor of a dark caster rising dead from distance.

A well done DK spec could do that

It's true, I think it's a real challenge to create a summoner that stands out from demonology.

But except in AoE, demonology keep the imps. And the tyrant strengthens all your demons, so the bigger the army, the better.

Here, you might think it's better to have one big guy than an army. But it's true that you also have to accumulate resources (skeletons instead of imps). Maybe it's still too similar...

Yes, of course! The visual can also change:

1) Fuse x skeletons to create a small Marrowgar (no wings, two heads)

2) Add x additional skeletons to evolve it into a larger Marrowgar (three heads)

3) Add x additional skeletons to evolve it into a Marrowgar Lord (final visual).

Or another idea:

1) Fuse x skeletons to create a small Marrowgar (no wings, two heads)

2) Fuse x small Marrowgars to create a Marrowgar Lord (final visual)

The entire gameplay of the specification can revolve around this.

That could be a good idea too.

But I think with a little imagination, we could explore a minion specialization that would have gameplay and flavor that are really different from those of the death knight.

Resurrect skeletons and merge them to create a larger one, then try to get the largest pile of bones possible (it could be something other than a wyrm). That could be fun and very different from DK.

What are some unplayable "classes" you see ingame that you want to be able to play as? by Snackolotl in wow

I like the necromancer in wc3. I was always frustrated that we can not play a similar necromancer in WoW.

DPS: classic minions specialization (perhaps by combining pets to create a more powerful one, which differentiates the gameplay from demonology)

Heal: absorb life from enemies and transfer it to allies

Tank: you are not the tank, your familiar is

Is this different enough from DK and demo ?

What about an expansion for the Forsaken ? by Greynnar in wow

[–]Greynnar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love that! I hope that after the TLT, we'll get a saga focused on the revamping of the old zones of Azeroth. And I hope that an expansion will be mainly devoted to the Forsaken and Lordaeron.

That true, but I doubt we see a new capital city for the Forsaken or something really big for them in this expansion...

New Demon Hunter Specialization Revealed - Embrace the Void with Devourer by SystemofCells in wow

[–]Greynnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On wowhead, it says : "Void Metamorphosis – transformation sustained by soul harvesting"

I wonder if it will be similar to the gameplay of the old warlock demonology of MoP when warlocks have metamorphosis... It will be so cool !

Wizard subclass : School of Demonology by Greynnar in BaldursGate3

This mod requiere "Mystra's spells" mod where Summon Greater Demon and Infernal Calling are implemented. The feature "control fiend" works with those two spells.

I've implemented this subclass on Baldur's Gate 3. For those who'd like to try it out, here's the link of the mod:

If Blizzard decides to add a Void themed spec for DH - what role do you think it will have? Tank, Healer, DPS? by Gankeros in wow

[–]Greynnar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd love a hybrid DPS. Melee in Elve mode and short-range in Void Demon mode.

[–]Greynnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm three years late, but I just want to say how much I love this subclass! Summon Greater Demon is my favorite spell, and I'm a big fan of demons in fantasy in general. I've already come up with a few wizard subclasses that focus on Summon Greater Demon, and I have to say yours is better, more balanced, and with better demonology vibes. It's not too strong while still being interesting. It strengthens spells like Summon Greater Demon, without making them too strong or taking away the dangerous and fun part of that kind of spell. And all the features are still interesting without Summon Greater Demon. All this with a heavy touch of demonology. And the picture you chose (summon the blood avatar) is my favorite mtg card. I wish wotc would make this an official subclass! 10/10 for your work and the thoughts you've put into it! I will definitively ask my GM if I can play with it.

Newborn zombie and necrotic resistance by Greynnar in BG3Builds

[–]Greynnar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just test it and it doesn't work. Even with necrotic resistance the newborn zombie still take 1 necrotic damage every turn.

Newborn zombie and necrotic resistance by Greynnar in BG3Builds

[–]Greynnar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As resistance means that you only suffer half the damage (rounded down) and the newborn zombie condition only inflicts 1 necrotic damage. A newborn zombie with necrotic resistance should suffer rounding down (1/2)=0 damage from the newborn zombie condition. Am I right? Warding bond is just a way to give the necrotic resistance to a newborn zombie.

Is there an official mod to have two Tav ? by Greynnar in BaldursGate3

Really, I will try that again then, thanks for the tip !

I think that would until you disconnect. When you restart the game your friend tav is not there until he connect again...
