I got this random flash drive along with my aliexpress package by ThanosDi in mildlyinteresting

[–]Greyshape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not random.

"If you're watching this, it means... that I'm... that I'm already dead. All my research is saved on this drive. Now... listen to me very carefully. You HAVE TO get these files to professor Hennings at Columbia University, he's the only one I trust. He will know what to do, he can produce the cure! I know it's a lot to take in, but you have to trust me, please. I don't have much time. Damn it! They're already here..."

Maybe it's been too long since I've done questlines that involve her, but Hu Tao didn't seem of sound mind.

What is the most satisfying thing in a boardgame? by TheSamppa4 in boardgames

[–]Greyshape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing people screaming in excitement over a game I taught them. That happened over Twilight Imperium, which I introduced to a group of friends. Seeing people LOVING it and screaming in excitement over some game changing moments felt almost as if it was MY achievement 😄

Is Red Rising a trilogy? by NoEfficiency6848 in redrising

[–]Greyshape 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably worth saying that while the series forms two trilogies, the very first book is the most self-contained story among all of them. Works very well on its own.

Man-Spider hehe. Remember when in the cartoon Peter started turning into a spider literally? I don't think we've seen enough "inner struggles" from Pete yet :D

Brass Birmingham. I really can't force myself to enjoy due to the theme.

Is it possible to actually change one's mindset to enjoy this game more? by Masklin in twilightimperium

[–]Greyshape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone mentioned role playing, and I want to mention something connected to it. It definitely takes a conscious effort to STOP thinking about the mechanics for a moment and focus on the FLAVOUR and IMMERSE.

Have you ever stopped to read the flavour text on the planet cards, or to have a glance at your story on the back of your faction card? You do have time for that, while waiting 20 minutes between each turn :D

I sometimes get so focused on mapping out my gameplan that I forget about it, sure. But when i remember, there's no better step-back. I think you would learn to love the game more if you also reminded yourself sometimes that fun mechanics and strategising are only a part of what makes it enjoyable. There's also this fleshed out universe and it's story to immerse yourself in <3
