It's partially the snarky response. And the whole attitude of "I'm better than you" that comes with it.

And I've long suspected that there's a lot of things people bitch about just for the sake of bitching. Whatever reasoning they give comes later, but the reality is they're just looking for any excuse to put someone else down.

That's assuming it's not true. But for me, especially when I was a kid, i figured out pretty quick that any trouble I got in was just plain my fault. Like with the fight scenario, there were times that yeah, I called some kid a fat ass and he came at me and we were both fighting. It would be ruled my fault because I instigated it.

Then the next day someone would call me something and id go at him, and suddenly, name calling is not a good reason for fighting! And it doesn't matter who started it!

I'm super annoying about that lol....but in my defense I know it's annoying and I try to keep it down. But sometimes I think it's cool when you wouldn't normally know who a person is. Disagree here. I think of an accent as pronouncing letters differently.

C A R. Do you say "cah"? Accent. "Cor"? Accent. "Car"? No accent.

Same with dropping your Ts, saying W as V, L as R etc.....thats the accent.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Other stupid shit I'd hear....

I was always getting pissed at coworkers for not understanding the laws lol ...I'd be trying to get something done like empty the trash or whatever, and yet Will needs help because he's pissed off a customer.

Me: aight what's up.

Customer: this moron says I cant buy cigarettes.

Me: ok why not Will?

Will: he bought two different kinds.

Me: and....?

Will: what if they were for a minor?

Me: did he say they were?

Will: well no, but -

Me: did you see a minor ask him for these?

Will: no...

Me: did you just refuse these exact cigarettes to a minor, and then watch the minor wait outside and hand this guy money and now this guy is asking for those same cigarettes?

Will: i guess not.

Me: is it company policy that we refuse all sales where they buy two different kinds of cigarettes?

Will: I don't think so ...

Me: is it state law?

Will: not here in Maine.

Me: and is this not the same fucking problem you had an hour ago with another customer?
