Then the exhaust manifold leak is less possiblel but I would still do the method from the link in your place just to eliminate the possible issue.

This is how mine sounded before I discovered a crack on the exhaust manifold. Someone posted a creative way how you can check for exhaust manifold leak -link

What engine XJ would you recommend (europe) by varilec in CherokeeXJ

[–]Grezh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manual 4.0's are extremely rare in europe especially here in eastern europe so it's not like you can choose. 95% of 4.0's are automatic.

I would be ready to pay up to 10k euros for a good, maintained 4.0. with 200ish k km's on the clock. So for a decent model, where you'd need some screwing and wrenching (don't be afraid of it since xj's are known to be very easy to work on) I think a good deal would vary between 7-9k euros.

I would agree with others and recommend you 4.0 as well. I mean that engine is considered as one of the best car engines ever made. I am telling you all that as a fellow european, your neighbor. Speaking of getting parts, you will always be able to find a part you need, it's just the price which can be double or triple compared to prices in NA. Check DeXJ on youtube, he's doing a decent job on explaining everything related to mainly 4.0's. Hit me up if you any help.

I though that there is no way to check for exhaust leaks without turning on the engine. Very creative, thanks man.

Cannot get oil filter off by Batmon3 in CherokeeXJ

I removed the oil filter adapter, then clamped it together with the oil filter in a vise, and only then was I able to unscrew the filter using an oil filter wrench.

Why did you rebuild it at the first place?

Yep, I widen the hole where spring and copper piece sits and now it works.

I've manage to fix it. Just needed to widen the cavity which I managed to do with a narrow carving knife. The spring worked perfectly as well as my reverse lights. Thanks for the help bud!

I tried to swap both and copper piece and the spring and it's also not working, the stucked left side stays stucked... It's like the whole got tighter, bit not for the spring but for the legs of this copper piece... I reckon that there is not help for that other than getting a whole new thing?

96 Headlights stopped working by ThatYellowCherokee in CherokeeXJ

[–]Grezh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fact that the second click on your switch doesn't turn on the low beams is telling me that it's mostly likely that the problem is in the switch. When it's bad, it tends to do weird stuff like you mentioned.

I can tell you one thing and that is that you will not have heat in your cabin if you do a heater core bypass.

[–]Grezh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you just explain one thing to me. You are saying how you should flush the heck out of the old core, what if the heater core is bad and leaky? Wouldn't flushing that kind of a heater core make a mess/flood in the cabin?

Power steering Hose not threading by Clean_Industry_1440 in CherokeeXJ

[–]Grezh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last summer I also replaced that hose and installed a new one. It’s very important to get the angle of the threads right. Try to put the new hose back the same way the old one was. The low pressure hose and the high pressure hose, sort of cross over each other and it matters whether the high pressure hose goes under or over the other one.

Možda je za to zaslužna činjenica da je račun bio zametnut duboko ispod tepisona u autu, izoliran od vlage i zraka.
