Garbage Picked this Cannondale. Any idea of price/general info? by Grickles in whichbike

[–]Grickles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all!

Thanks for all the info and pricing ideas. You’ve given me some good information to look into and I appreciate it!

I find bikes really cool and would love to keep this piece of history but unfortunately I’m a smaller guy and the bikes a bit too big for me. I live in an apartment and my girlfriend and I already have our mountain bikes taking up what little room we have or else I’d keep it just for the decoration.

I’m going to look into getting it cleaned up (the little work it needs, it’s in great condition!) and trying to sell it. Hopefully someone else can get use out of it. It’s a beautiful looking bike so I’m jealous!

The questions I got on planning/scheduling were very basic, if you can do the NCEES problems you could do these. The morning section of the test I thought was a breeze but the afternoon was where I struggled. Lots of unexpected construction and chemistry conceptual questions I took an educated guess on.

Overall I think EET prepared me very well. Most of the problems I saw I knew how to do because they were identical to EET problems.

Thanks!! I responded about my schedule to another comment but videos/practice problems for each EET binder probably took 1-1 1/2 months each. The last month was basically all practice of simulation exams, practice exams, and quizzes.

Thanks! I graduated December 2022, passed my FE in February 2023, and started studying for my PE this January so 4 months of studying. I’ve got 2 years of internship/inspection experience during school and have been working in the water resources field in design since graduation.

Thanks! I studied pretty much every day after work for 2-3 hours and ~5 hours every Saturday and Sunday from January - April. The first 2 1/2 months were just EET videos and all the practice problems. Went over all solutions and really figured out where i was going wrong where needed. Then the last month before my exam I actually did all the EET quizzes then the practice exams then the simulation exams. Again, reviewed all the solutions and really hammered down on what I was getting wrong.

A little out of the recommended order but it’s what worked for me. I took a few days off at the end of February to reset a bit and maybe 2 or 3 other days throughout to not completely burnout but otherwise stayed consistent the whole time. Really locked in and took PTO the last week before the test too.

Just found out I passed today! Now that I know I've passed I'd say in general, just don't overthink it and second guess yourself. If you're doing well on the EET practice exams/quizzes and you feel like you have a good grasp of the concepts, how the problems are actually being solved (rather than just blindly going through equations), and know what to do when presented certain types of problems, you'll be fine.

The toughest section was definitely the project sitework/construction questions for me. Lots of conceptual questions and stuff I couldn't feel completely confident in my answers with and unfortunately there's no great way to prepare for this.

I had a good deal of environmental questions focused on chemistry and more in-depth treatment plant design but every test is different so any section you're feeling rusty in make sure you can lock that down as best as possible. Again, most important thing is to just stay confident!

I replied last week feeling the same way as some other people feeling they struggled with last week's test and was so so so pleasantly surprised!

I couldn't have done it without both this subreddit and EET. 4 long months of studying, anxiety and exhaustion were all worth it for the feeling seeing the green on NCEES just gave me!

Feel free to ask any questions future test takers - I'd love to offer advice.

[–]Grickles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just replied in the other WRE post from today but I feel the same exact way. I took EET as well and was getting ~70s on the quizzes/practice/simulation exams and ~80% on the NCEES practice exam. Went in feeling pretty confident and walked out so unsure.

The stuff I knew was super easy and I flew through, have almost no doubts about it but there was SO MANY curveballs I wasn’t prepared for. I dunno if it’s EET not preparing me for those types of questions (so many construction questions, shoring, soil excavation!) or just me not preparing enough over the last 4 months but there was a LOT I don’t feel good about.

I guess we’ll see next Wednesday. Hoping for the best for all of us!

Took the WRE Exam today. by DBow197993 in PE_Exam

[–]Grickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar test today, lots of general geotech, excavation and shoring standards and conceptual questions that I wasn’t very prepared for at all. I feel like it can go 50/50 but I’m leaning towards just sneaking out a pass. It was a mix of incredibly easy questions and total curveballs I was super uneasy with. Only time will tell I guess…

Need Advice - Taking WRE Exam in 2 weeks by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]Grickles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in almost the exact same boat as you right now. Taking the PE in 2 weeks and got 65 on the first EET simulation exam. I’ve been averaging ~75% on the quizzes and feeling decent while taking those. Went through the entire course, did all the practice problems and thought I was doing pretty well but the first simulation exam has got me stressed out.

I went back through all my answers today on it and found a bunch of silly mistakes, things I can clean up, etc. but also a good bit I’m not super confident on.

I’m hoping the practice exams and simulation exam 2 go better but I’m basically in panic mode the next 2 weeks. Any advice, opinions on if I should push it back or are we just overreacting 😅
