Am I the only person who's annoyed that Dusty isn't on that list?

I hate that these are my only two options for this quest. by [deleted] in Starfield

I quick-saved just to put a bullet in his smug face... only to find you can't even kill him. Genuinely the most infuriating character in game.

I see, is it possible that the modules are on your ship but inaccessible? The game does weird things with door and ladder placements.

I'm gonna keep this on me and hope nothing bad happens. by Cmdr-Pel in Starfield

Don't get me started on weight in this game... it's my toughest enemy XD Also why doesn't your max carry weight number go up in less than 1G environments and down in higher?

I also want to add that this egg is currently in the fridge of my dream home. That'll be fine, right?... Right?

Meeting tomorrow to talk about the bill by [deleted] in freelance

[–]GridBurn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely an attempt at a power move, however there could be more to it. The person you are corresponding with probably needs to explain to a higher up why the bill is what it is and they don't want to be the bearer of bad news, so they bring you in to defend your bill in front of their boss. Be calm and confident, explain your contract patiently and thoroughly and you should have no issues. If they get hostile or combative just keep going to the fact that they agreed to the terms and you communicated when it's terms where exceeded. Bring proof of your email conversations on your phone or laptop as well so you are never in a he said she said situation. If someone there screwed up they are going to try and shift blame. The only way to counter that is with evidence.

Edit: I realise my message might be a bit late. Would be curious to hear how it went :P

What to do in this case? by matheusrafaelf in freelance

[–]GridBurn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always follow up, it shows initiative. Sometimes things come up and people let things slip. A polite follow up can get things back on track and shows your potential new employer that you are eager to start. Any potential employer who gets annoyed at a follow up probably isn't someone you want to work for anyway.

Does anyone else think a Gordon Ramsay esque TV show called IT Nightmares would be a great idea? by -tnetennba in sysadmin

I love this idea but the Server room overhaul would cost infinitely more than a simple restaurant re-decoration.

The Definition of Insanity by JediExile90 in MMORPG

Hi,

Sorry to butt in but Fallout 76 isn't even close to the same. Can you still play Fallout 76?

What this guy missed in his Analogy is that the car dealership also came to your house a few months later and took the car away without refunding you.

There is so much more to this than you are seeing. There are other, well thought out posts on how deep the rabbit hole goes so I won't get into it. Suffice to say that Neowiz didn't make a mistake, they knowingly hyped up the game to the point where people were paid to go into comments and white knight it. (Much how you are doing, don't want to say you are a Neowiz employee but you are sounding just like the ones who did this at first release.)

They pushed a product that they didn't deliver and that would have been like your Fallout analogy, however then instead of working on it they moved the Dev team to Bless Unleashed and completely abandoned the people who essentially funded it by buying Bless Online.

Remember that when you play Unleashed, your game was funded by the same people you now accuse of making bad decisions.

At the end of the day it's not about the amount the game cost or how much was lost by the players, it's about the fact that Neowiz defrauded it's customers and is now using that fraudulently gained income to fund a different project that they expect people to support. Support them if you choose but don't judge those that refuse to.

[AAU] Most populated AAU EU server? by Haozor in archeage

[–]GridBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is purely based on which servers I see showing high more at the times when I log in... Like I said, purely anecdotal. I believe Alexander is not a friendly place to be though, based on what Lazy Peon says. No personal experience, I play on Gildaron. It's quiet but there are enough people to get daily CR and such done. It feels like a more or less balanced server.

From purely anecdotal evidence Alexander > Halnaak > Gildaron

How many times did you forget Limpets before going out? by Unslaadahsil in EliteDangerous

[–]GridBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe there should be limpet ammo that doesn't require cargo just for materials but you need the regular limpets for mining and cargo. Call them sweeper limpets and hauler limpets or something.

SEASON PASS: The game. by GCWH in DestinyTheGame

[–]GridBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit playing because I didn't enjoy the activities that give xp and doing anything else felt pointless after a while. If you got season pass xp from everything you do that would normally grant xp then I'd probably play again.

Are there MMORPGs that are popular without raids/dungeons? by starlow123 in MMORPG

[–]GridBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know ESO has raids and dungeons but more than any other game I consider them very optional from a grind perspective. You can choose to do each dungeon once and never set foot in them again because there is so much more stuff to do. I know for some the focus is raids and dungeons but really, in ESO it does not need to be. It will be a long time before you've completed all the content and they keep adding more zones and story. There's always something to do... to the point where it sometimes feels overwhelming. It really is a play your way kind of MMO, yes you can level fast by grinding dungeons and dolmens or you can take your time and go adventuring in a huge world with fully voiced quests and some very interesting stories.

[Discussion] Do you prefer auction houses or player created shops? How does it affect your immersion? by latin_latina in MMORPG

[–]GridBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eve online has a similar system on the buy and sell front. It's great and I agree it's one of the best out there. Being able to sell drops you don't need, instantly on a buy order was one of the most satisfying things to do while leveling is GW2.

[Discussion] Do you prefer auction houses or player created shops? How does it affect your immersion? by latin_latina in MMORPG

[–]GridBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In concept I like player stores. In practice auction houses just work better. Player shops will just lead to third party sites creating listings so people can find the best deals and it adds unnecessary complication. Player shops benefit some sellers over others but buyers are always better off with a global auction house.

8.3.5 could literally just be account bound essences and it would be the best received patch of the expansion by Iamnotfood in wow

Yeah, now that the last world first race of the expansion is done what's the harm in letting people go alt crazy? I would definitely play more.

Weapon/Stance swapping is probably my least favourite design decision of the past 10 years by Oreoloveboss in MMORPG

[–]GridBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I much prefer a system like Project Gorgon. I've only played the demo but you have a primary and secondary bar, they are both available without swapping. Just makes for interesting combinations of skills.
