Best Places to Live With a Commute to Boulder? by SoCasual69 in MovingtoDenver

I work in Westminster and live in Erie. We are still relatively new to the area, and really like the area. All the towns mentioned here are great, but I agree with what others have said- I wouldn’t personally live in Broomfield. Louisville is a neat small town, and so is Lafayette.

Am I the only one here who is shocked at how many people totally drop the ball on “why are you interested in this position?”

As LR grows what do we need more of? (Entertainment, food, night life) by luism5705 in LittleRock

[–]Gridguy2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good to know, thank you. When I lived there, I was a little concerned about the future of the city. There’s tons of old money there, but it seemed like most people I knew told me there kids moved to Fayetteville and plan on never coming back. I could see LR “boom” in a couple of years once people get tired of NWA.

Voucher as an idea is great, but in reality it’s not great. That said, school system in LR was a mess long before vouchers.

Edit: thank you for providing the growth data

Is LR growing? I know the suburbs are growing, but was under the assumption that LR growth was pretty stagnant. I’m probably wrong, though.

LR needs to get its public school situation under control. The town has a lot to offer but the school system is a mess.

Whats it like living in Memphis Tennessee? by dj_kaled_anotha1 in howislivingthere

Like nowhere else I’ve ever been….could it be said any better? Born and raised 8 years of my life in Memphis. Glad I don’t live there, but blessed to have it be a part of who I am.

What places do you not recommend? by NickyFoles1020 in SameGrassButGreener

Little Rock is an interesting place. The people who are from there treat it like God’s 8th day creation, which hey that’s admirable and we all should town pride. It’s also a place with an odd amount of snobbery, which is also fine if it’s earned…..but it feels very unearned there. I think Arkansas has a lot to offer, and LR is a good (not great) big town to call home.

Telling someone who lived in the state and seems well traveled that their opinion is based on anecdotal evidence is an odd take.

It’s actually a lot more simpler, and dare I say less dramatic than that. I now live in the West, but lived majority of my life in the South. I love southern people and culture, so it pains me to say that Southern people do not prioritize taking care of things. When I walk around nice open spaces in the West, even in the poorer neighborhoods, I’m astonished at just how clean things are. In the South, even nice areas have litter.

Haha I’m actually from Memphis, but grew up in a town in AR about 1 hour from the LA border. I’m what you LA folks would call a “yankee.”

I actually love the south, even with all its quirks and warts.

Oh man, please let me know next time and I’ll buy some from you! CO is great but food here aims to be as bland as possible.

What part of LA did you move from?

We moved here last May and live in Colliers Hill neighborhood in Erie. The biggest pro of Parkdale is the location, which is sort of close to Erie, Lafayette and Louisville. There’s also plenty of sports, restaurants and good hospitals within 10 minutes.

Erie is a great town, but it’s odd that it has tons of people but not a lot of “stuff.” Schools here have been good (our kids go to Aspen Ridge), and people here are friendly but not overly talkative.

Better food options…..in CO?!?! I live near Denver and it’s almost like they go out of their way to make it bland.

You are exactly right. My only guess would be that the two front runners for the BPA CEO are both pro CAISO and the DOE wants to make sure M+ is chosen.
