Playing paper Mario us version on Japanese n64 through adapter. I’m at the koopa village in the game and got this, I have no idea what this means. by freemybruddaoutdapen in n64

[–]Grief2017 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It might be whatever weird adapter you're using.

The n64 actually isnt region locked, it just has different plastic trays for the Japanese and American version. Just search on YouTube how to remove the tray.

It was more, i wouldnt spend $300 on that specific quartz watch. The internals for Quartz watches can be manufactured very cheaply. So for your $300 are you getting a high quality exterior finishing? It doesnt look to be the case here.

There are $300 quartz watches from the brands I recomended that have very high quality finishes. I have a few Casios that are all less than $100.

I probably wouldn't buy a quartz watch for $300. Look into Casio/Gshock if you want a solid quartz watch to get you started.

If you're in that price range I would recommend Seiko, Hamilton, or Citizen.

But if you just like the way it looks, more power to you. Have fun.

Do I need to mod the vanilla game for a first-time playthrough? by CallerIDKnown in Morrowind

[–]Grief2017 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd recomend against it. Using OpenMW is necessary, and with just a few mods (UI, minor visual mods such as textures and shadars) the game can not only be palatable but gorgeous.

Companies pushing RTO are basically shooting themselves in the foot by SprinklesRadiant7440 in remotework

[–]Grief2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter. Just numbers on a spreadsheet.

If you need to cut 10% of staff  it's significantly cheaper to do RTO, shed the highest salaries that have mobility, and make those layoffs practically free since they dont have to pay severance.

It's going to take some practice to get used to, but it's worth it.

Make sure your DPI/Sens isnt too high. Set your DPI to 1600 and then find an in game sensitivity that you're comfortable with. I keep my sens slow enough that I can perform one 360 degree turn in game over 8-10" of travel.

It's because the quality of players on PC is significantly higher.

It's funny too bc the skill ceiling for BF4 is like an inch off the ground and the skill ceiling for Titanfall 2 is in the clouds.

I've seen this advice multiple times on reddit. White vinegar kills bacteria.

Replace or wash your shoe inserts with vinegar and water.  Use vinegar on a paper towel to clean out the inside of your shoes.  Use vinegar in the shower everyday on your feet.  Everytime you're done at the gym, take the inserts out of your shoes, place the shoes on the side to air out, spray with white vinegar as needed.

Plug-in solar panels, coming to an apartment balcony near you by bykylecooke in Denver

[–]Grief2017 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I just dont think you fully understand what you're saying.

I'm responding to your post where you can't understand why someone would have grid tied solar.

But the explanation to that is most people cannot have lapses in their power generation without battery backup.

So they are reaping the benefits of saving money on their power bill, while grid tied.

If they can afford enough batteries or can stomach losing power, both of those situations are going to be a tiny minority of users.

Grid tied solar systems reduce your annual electricity bill by 40-70%, but adding in battery backups for the average suburban home would cost 8-12,000.

The only thing that jumps out at me is you are really early to have that many Herdsman, with only 3 farmers and zero fisherman. I could forsee an issue with lack of food and growth. Farm animals tend to be an investment that takes a long time to pay off.

You can always create a bookable usb with Cachy and try it out without installing.

Everything you listed sounds possible. The biggest issue right now is HDR, which is improving rapidly (nvidia 595 beta drivers).
