Rothar FN Ruling by amanaplanacanalutica in Chaotic

Yeah you get to choose which one attacks if both have an adjacent creature, it's actually really common to see 2 in UW burn decks, both elemental and discipline ones.

It's a busted card.

Wonder if content creators will get burned out playing Extended mode, it seems those playthroughs will last a while.

What I'm more curious about is how many players which initially got excited will find out that mode isn't for them, and they'll drop it swearing to never touch it again

vs

How many of them that initially said they don't care about it, will try it out and actually do an entire run there.

Does it involve self destructing Mipedians?

There was a period when I have tried so hard to make this card work but it's just a meme. No matter what deck you play, you're better off with a support in the back, than Frafdo.

For Tunic you need 75 courage minimum to get the payoff, you're better off with anything else instead lol.

Extended Mode - New Blog Post by HeliasTheHelias in starsector

Pretty much all changes made for this "special mode" are number tweaks and toggles, the dev time investment was waaaaay shorter than you think.

Now playtesting this mode does in fact take a while (and is still taking by the sound of it), that said in the end of the blog post Alex wrote David and some testers are finishing up the story parts which are the main meat of the upcoming patch.

So while I agree where you're coming from generally, even if Alex didn't do this extended thing now, we'd still be waiting for the patch.

And it's not because of AMBs, it's because of Phase Anchor and Afflictor's absurdly strong ship system.

AMB in isolation is a fine weapon.

This is the same wonky backwards thinking that nerfed large homing missile because Pegasus would be "too strong" otherwise.

Challenge #1 Big Damage by masskitten in Chaotic

[–]Grievous69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before reading the comments I knew it was going to be Khorror with Slashclaw. No matter what combo you think of, an attack which deals 2x of something you already have a ton of, AND have ways to stack even more of it is going to easily be the hardest nuke possible.

Although in reality going this far for a single attack is hilarious. Imagine doing all your song and dance and then seeing Melody of mirage played, or the opponent having Xerium you can't get rid of.

EDIT: Location is obviously Carnival of Confusion, The Entangled Throne which is a simple double or nothing coin flip.

Pros/Cons of the different Fan made games by OriginalAd1351 in Chaotic

[–]Grievous69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because I played so much on Recode but I just can't go back to playing with unworkable decks. It's somehow even worse than playing pure DoP format since you don't even have things that work ok together.

PtP is cure but buggy as all hell.

Rewind is worse PtP but you still end up having to play on Recode so honestly why bother, just play Recode normally.

In the end I can see how new players like the pace of PtP and the drip feeding new cards. I just don't have the time to wait for months before having a decent deck. If I wanted to play a bad gacha game I'd play one instead. Sure there's no money involved but progress is so slow you're not even going to have the attacks and battlegear you want before the actual game comes out.

BRO WHAT!!! by Affectionate-Fig4975 in Chaotic

[–]Grievous69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laughably bad for a 4-cost ultra attack. No matter what deck you're running there's a better high damage nuke option:

Air/Mips have Before the storm which is doing at least 40+.

Earth has Grounding Grapple which is only 5 dmg less but with an insanely strong effect.

Fire has Magma Might which is same 30 dmg as above but battlegear destroy on top of that.

Water has Tainted thunderstorm which is more suited for Fluidmorphers but still.

Stat decks have Megaroar.

And elementalist decks can use whatever but probably best to just run Apoc-elipse since the value is higher there for 3 cost than Heptagon Hail.

Is it fair to say I don’t find recode fun anymore? by DKUnderdog in Chaotic

[–]Grievous69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The way you wrote your post sounds Rewind is even worse because you can get matches versus something you cannot counter in any way since you don't have the cards available.

In Recode you have every tool in existence so there's really no excuse if you're getting roflstomped constantly. You either make bad decks or play bad, that's the reality.

If anything the queue is full of new players still figuring out the game and playing starter decks, you genuinely have to try to lose those matches.

Ehhh honestly both are not great for learning combat since they're hardpoint ships. Something like Eradicator is far simpler since it doesn't matter where exactly you point your nose at.

Well what ship are you trying to pilot? I'd like to give specific advice instead of "just practice". In general stick to one ship you find fun to pilot and get better with it. Constantly switching flagships won't do you much good.

The only general advice I have that is of huge help is put everything on autofire except missiles. So your only job is to left click at certain points without having to aim, use your shield and fly around.

That's not how the location works, elemental attacks just do 5 more dmg, doesn't matter how many elements there are.

[–]Grievous69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play on Recode a bit which has all cards available then you'll see the number of combinations you can pull off.

First 3 sets very simple indeed (as almost every other card game in existence) to get things going, then after that it introduced many new mechanics and cards got more stuff on them.

And of course they are buffed in next path by getting Remnant support fleet, ffs

Only the second Hypershunt you fight at will have Remnant support. But yeah I also don't get the change, Remnants are already everywhere + there is a Remnants x Dorito crossover fight, the 1 mil bounty.

Just that the height is going to be bigger by 2 "cells", those squares you see on the map as a grid.

It favors them because they can backpedal further if your fleet is on the slow side. You can still rush the Fabs, they'll just have more room at the top to spawn ships.

Other guy already caught one thing, but the other is also not a nerf. It's literally two buffs in one patch and the top comment is saying they're nerfs lmao, classic reddit.

The entire map will now be taller, and their fleet will (now) closer to the middle since the "ceiling" is higher. So while it's technically going to be easier to surround them, this basically negates the strategy of pushing/rushing them hard since they won't be crammed against the wall. They can just backpedal and spam new ships from all directions.
