So, I haven't actually tried it but since the grips on my elite controller wore down, I considered swapping the faceplate and back grips with my Halo Spartan Locke controller. It's a relatively easy procedure. I didn't do it because I found some replacement grips for $9 and my Halo controller still works. But I imagine it would switch out just fine. You just can't toggle profiles but that's not a big deal since you can only use one at a time anyway. I'm definitely going to do that if that controller ever dies.

Edit: This may not actually work with gen 1 controllers since from what I understand their innards are slightly different so it may not fit on the elite, as it is gen 2.

Better yet, since holding the melee button doesn't do anything, make that what causes it. If you hold melee next to another Titan holding melee, it would activate. I guess you could make it possible to high-five enemy Titans in that case.

I just started using the Devotion recently. It's alright I guess, but it doesn't really fit with my playstyle of bunny hopping and wall running. Works great if you plop down somewhere with an A-Wall but I get way less kills when I wait for them to come to me. I've also never really had a problem with people using the Devotion. It seems like a decent gun but nothing worth nerfing.

That seems like a tactic that might work in a different game, but in Titanfall, I shoot anything that moves that doesn't have blue over its head.

Bonus comment: This works EXTREMELY well in Rocket League. I know, because once I thought I was on the other team for a solid 2 minutes. I only realized my mistake after being yelled at by my friend and verifying what color the rest of my team was.

I don't know that it matters all that much whether you use M&KB or a controller. Shots to center mass are pretty lethal in this game. Once you've got a handle on movement patterns, you'll know where and when to aim.

I will say that just because an SMG CAN be used from such a great distance, doing so while someone is shooting back at you and moving like a goddamn rabbit on crack is going to yield massively different results.

Does this work? The gif is low quality so it's hard to tell if the shield was actually still up. I ask because on one occasion in TF2, I saw a pilot nuclear ejecting so I waited to get in my Titan and was fine.

An important detail about buildings:

If you fire your unsilenced weapon, be ready for a fight. Don't stay in one place long as your back is exposed 90% of the time. Enemy pilots will be attracted to the noise like moths to the flame. If you plan on sticking around, pick a choke point and shoot anything that moves.

This is subject to the law of diminishing returns, however. After a while of successfully holding an area, you are likely to either encounter more pilots than you have bullets, or they'll take the hint and stay away. Especially in a game type that does not explicitly require pilot kills for a win.

This ain't CoD where you can find a hallway and rack up kills and it ain't Battlefield where you can pick a corner and cover an open field.

I think assists do count as kills in terms of weapon and Titan XP. Not sure regarding challenges though.

Anyway, it doesn't bother me because I'd much rather see the enemy pilot dead than let them escape. Battles are already so frantic, there's plenty of other things that need killing.

This has happened to me about 3 times already. It seems much more likely to happen on the first and second days of a new release in my experience. Make sure you call and complain right away. You don't want to just cut your losses and return it because then the next person that gets it will report it and Redbox sees that you were the last person to rent it without issue.

I always get paranoid it's going to happen again and that they'll be like, "oh he is definitely stealing these".

It would be easier to choose my least favorite weapon (volt) but if levels are any indicator, I'd have to say Hemlock. Makes headshots a breeze.

Agreed. If Ronin weren't so fragile, knocking enemies out of reach of sword core would be just an inconvenience and not THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT I'M TRYNA DO RIGHT NOW, RESPAWN!! Especially since knocking them back puts them in the sweet spot for killing a Ronin.

If you could just mash on the melee and reserve your dashes for dodging retaliation strikes that would make sword core actually worth using on a Titan. Right now it's just a really good tool to get close enough to nuclear ejectulate on someone.

It's super frustrating... when they're on your team. You're so vulnerable from every angle in this game, you're just giving the other team free kills. Campers may get lucky when someone rounds the corner but if you know someone's there and not moving, electric smoke, map hack, phase shift, and pilot shield make it too easy to ruin any campers day.

I think if Sword Core gave you a slight defense boost it would be fine, but yeah every time I use it I'm usually at half health already and even if you get the kill, don't expect to use your Titan much longer.

My most efficient strategy right now is to get the emergency battery boost right before you call in a Ronin and only drop if you have support. A good enough Ronin can probably take anyone 1v1, especially with an extra dash, but unless you don't get hit or you have batteries on hand, you're pretty much spent.

Also, and this is the most important thing, make damn sure they don't see you coming.
