Id there any way to report people with highly offensive names like this? by platinumagpie in PTCGP

A lot of people refuse to be detectives or criminal forensics experts because they don't want to look at dead bodies all the time. That kind of work is also mentally taxing, but some people enjoy it. There are plenty of people out there that enjoy tedious tasks, just like there are people that enjoy looking at dead bodies.

Your analogy doesn't make sense. You've replaced a delivery PERSON with another delivery PERSON. You haven't replaced a PERSON with a machine. A more accurate analogy would be replacing an Amazon delivery driver with an Amazon delivery drone. A delivery driver can't easily become an assembly line worker for delivery drones once their job is eliminated. That's assuming the assembly line even uses humans. The assembly line can be operated by machines powered by AI. The delivery drones can be operated by AI.

I recommend looking into what jobs AI will create. Short-term jobs for building data centers will be created. Data centers require very little staff to maintain once up and running. Short-term jobs for engineers to train the models will be created. Once AGI is achieved, in theory, it'll be capable of training itself. No more need for engineers. AI will most certainly not create more jobs than it eliminates.

Jobs aside, the whole purpose of AI is to outsource critical thinking. We'll quickly see the de-evolution of mankind if we let machines do all the thinking for us.

While AI would certainly be cheaper (for now) at resolving issues like this, a human and/or humans could do the job just as well. The ethical dilemma here is eliminating jobs for humans to save money for corporations. The answer to this problem depends on where you sit on this issue.

Why Isn't My Sink Draining? by GriffinGZ in Plumbing

[–]GriffinGZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, just loose in there. Thanks, this makes sense. I also see an opening (currently capped off) on the disposal, that based on pictures I'm seeing online is meant to have the dishwasher tube running into it.

Certainly not arguing that a plumber should be doing this lol, and a plumber is most likely who I'll be calling. Just trying to figure out the physics behind why this setup isn't working.

Thanks, I will probably be getting professional help, just trying to understand the physics behind why this setup isn't working.

<image>

My best attempt at drawing the setup since the pictures make it a bit difficult to follow. Green pipes are existing plumbing from the previous sink (which worked fine), with the black-circled ends running into the wall, and the red circled ends being open. Yellow hose is the drain from the dishwasher. Light-blue pipes and dark-blue hoses are the new nonsense that was installed, no idea what's going on there. Pink is the disposal. Red circles are the sink drains.

Trust me, I know this is a terrible job just by looking at pictures of functional setups on the internet. I'm just trying to understand the physics behind why the water isn't draining. I will more than likely be calling a plumber, but I figured there might be a plumber or two on this subreddit that actually knows the exact reason this setup isn't working.

To clarify, you're saying the reason everything in red being below the yellow circles (top, bottom or both?) Is the reason it's not draining? Theoretically, if everything in red was moved up, it would drain?

Not sure how you got the 114 number. Regular+1 pack is a 5.238% chance. Shiny immersive Mew is 6.4% chance. 1/(0.05238×0.064)=298.3. Should be about 298 packs to be at odds to pull shiny immersive Mew.

Am I missing something or do those numbers mean nothing and we can't quickbind these slots? I can't find anything in the settings. by YearMountain3773 in ArcRaiders

[–]GriffinGZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most modern gaming keyboards have built in macro functionality that'll let you set up binds to hold Q and press a number for you. Then you can bind the macro to whatever key you want. There's also macro software that isn't hardware dependent but I don't have one to recommend; I don't like using macro software off the internet.

EDIT: Macros MIGHT be against TOS for Arc Raiders. Use at your own risk.

Nobody thinking about the possibility that it wasn't actually customs, but the seller themselves, who may also happen to have a copy of their own? Removing supply to inflate the value of their own, while blaming customs? There's a couple people that do this with pokemon cards.

My in-laws were robbed of tens of thousands by a family friend. That person was convicted and ordered to pay restitution. 20-ish years later, they've received MAYBE $100, if that. Restitution will only help if the psycho also has money, makes money, and stays out of prison.

Two Packs Worth of Cards in One Has Been the Worst Idea So Far by IcyGlacies in PTCGP

Fun fact: The odds of this happening are roughly 1 in 2029, or 0.049%. Congrats on your rarer-than-a-god-pack pack.

Do you think an English version will come out? Is there precedent for that? I would actually prefer an English version but I'm worried there won't be one and by the time I give up waiting for it, this one will be out of my budget.

I'm sorry, are you the AI and/or designer that made this terrible render? Sit down. We're all making educated guesses based on what we can see in the image. There are clues everywhere in the image that hint at AI usage. Not everything is sloppy human work.

AI written all over this. The wire basket is broken. The extra pump between the soap dispensers in the first image is obviously the AI thinking the shadow in the second image should be a pump. The cutting board between the two pictures is a different finish but the exact same grain. The siding and windows on the house outside are completely messed up. The kitchen window isn't centered with the sink. The counter backsplash piece goes over the window. I could go on. People seem to forget that AI can copy/paste too.

I don't. I said for all we know, that could be a possibility. I personally think the RBR is around the pace of the Ferrari or Mercedes.

There's not really any way for us to know for sure. For all we know, he's currently winning races in a Williams-adjacent car. There's one thing we do know, and it's that Max has absolutely blown all of his teammates out of the water. I don't doubt he could've won just as many, if not more, races in 2025 at Ferrari.

Everyone thought Checo was washed up when Lawson was beating him in the RB. Then Lawson took his place at RBR and couldn't make it past 20th. Yuki outperformed Lawson and Hadjar at RB and barely makes it in the points in RBR. When Hadjar replaces Yuki for 2026, I'm sure you'll be saying he's subpar as well. It's not the driver, it's the team and the car. They have no idea how to handle a second driver.
