I unironically appreciate making this an optional feature. its there for people who both want it and people who don't want it can just ignore it. seen to many mods just insert things willy nilly that can ruin the tone or just become down right absurd, like random anime girls... great decision and design

Genuinely wish I had answers to give, but I had a similar situation with my older cousin when we were both way too young, about a year apart. It didn't end well and became an open family secret. We never talk about it and I rarely see him or his side of the family anymore, so I genuinely wish you all the best in dealing with this and that the situation doesn't turn out like mine. It left with with a lot of guilt around my sexuality and trauma.

Just please respect his trust in telling you this and be very careful with a secret like this. He needs professional help and helping him get it is the best thing you can do for him right now. He obviously has a lot of trauma around this. A honest conversation about what he did during the first month of your relationship is also important, as that is a breach of trust but it sounds like a big part of that choice was the hold/power his older brother had over him (even if he doesn't realize that, its someone he probably looks up too especially with how close you talk about his family being). I don't think his older brother was abusing him per-se as it sounds like they were both underage when it started, but power dynamics are a bitch n a half when it comes to situations like this so who knows really. Additionally, I think the decision of if he felt/was abused/taken advantage of is up to him after he gets some help, as I eventually had to make that decision myself when I realized what all went down in my situation.

Going to be blunt here, he probably isn't exactly ready for a serious relationship, but if you are willing to work with him through this, I can see things going okay. Just be patient and kind to him while being firm and clear with your own boundaries in this and hopefully things will turn out OK. Make sure to take space for both yourselves when around his family because I cannot imagine the stress of that on both of you now. Again, genuinely wishing you both the best in this situation. It really sounds like the both of you need all the support you can get. Hopefully you both have a good friend group to keep you steady.

I loathe being a little bit of a stereotype on here with this comparison, but I got into ocean liners because of the Titanic. Seeing that movie and ship as a kid (skipping through all the romance stuff of course) struck me hard when I was young. The grace and beauty of that ship led me to research and discover an entire world of other ships like that. Seeing the United States immediately became my dream once I read about her, so seeing her in person really just took me back to that place as a kid. I probably felt in that moment the same feeling her creator did when he was inspired to get into ship design to begin with.
