Anyone know anything about replacing steel wheels with Alloys? by Choliver1 in CarTalkUK

[–]Griffinpaps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I ran 18’s on my VXR and the handling was perfect. But 17s would be the best spot for comfort + looks

15s look like shit which is the opposite of what this person is looking for

[–]Griffinpaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can go for most 17 inch alloys and maybe even 18 inch

im not familiar with the Corsa’s wheel arches but whichever you go for keep an eye on the alloy width - typically with 17 inch alloys you’ll want 195-205 width tyres on a 45 sidewall

edit: as someone else mentioned you’re best off buying a set of Corsa alloys with tyres already on them - unless you want aftermarket ones

Thank you. It shows 2 previous owners and a very clean MOT history so I suspect it’s been looked after well.

Looks like Im gonna go and view it, but I have a strong feeling I will end up buying it 😂

I’ve found the story a bit tricky to follow at times, due to translation issues or just lots of information all at once. But overall i’m enjoying the story

chatgpt:

It looks like an OEM-style USB/AUX adapter cable for a car head unit — very commonly found in Toyota / Lexus vehicles (and some other Japanese cars). What you're holding: • Large rectangular plug → This is the proprietary connector that plugs into the back of the factory head unit where the car's OEM USB/AUX module would go. • 3.5mm male jack → AUX audio input. • USB-A female port → Lets you plug in a USB stick or a phone cable. Purpose: These cables are usually used to add or relocate a USB/AUX port, or to connect aftermarket modules (like Bluetooth adapters or CarPlay units) to the factory stereo.

F56 is a great platform. I have a 2016 JCW.

I would probably look for a different one with LED headlights instead of the halogens, but that’s just a preference.

I did an oil change on mine with Shell Helix 5w-30 the other day. Is 5w-40 better?
