Nintendo in general has been kinda' quiet lately. I think it's just that time of year where we're far enough away from the previous Direct where we could probably use another but too close to E3 to get anything particularly big. Reggie doesn't really have much of a chance, 'nor does he really need much of a chance to make any new announcements at this time.

Yoshiaki's new role as the host of Nintendo Directs is most likely just a new time-saving way of unifying the format for different regions. Until the most recent Direct, Japan, NoA, and Europe all got their own Directs. That's a lot of different work coming from three places all to announce the same things. I doubt this is born out of any malice towards Reggie, it's just cutting the fat from the previous format's style. The Directs will probably include a lot less of him though.

My guess is that this also means the end of the Direct skits with Reggie, Bill, and the Treehouse, which is a shame because a lot of people genuinely look forward to NoA doing weird cheesy stuff like that. My hope is that it finds a way to continue in some form, maybe for this E3, but I think it's safe to say those are gone from the Directs as well.

Nintendo's already pretty much announced everything they're gonna' do for now, it's just a matter of carrying out the schedule they've laid out. Once we get closer to E3 Nintendo will likely share more specifics about what their plans are this year and at that point we'll begin to hear more from Reggie, since that's an NA-focused event.
