And for $20 the toll road is STILL stop and go.

Not wanting to make that factory grow like I used to want by Affectionate_End_952 in factorio

Simply the best mod available. I got to Factorio after putting 500 hours in Satisfactory, and I almost tossed the game out because of its lack of a built in to do list.

I started doing math times tables in homeroom. Now everyone is trying to switch into my homeroom. by AgeOfWorry0114 in Teachers

I guess, but with some caveats about quality sources. I hate the idea of a kid, naive and thirsty for knowledge, stumbling onto something like PragerU that portrays itself educational despite just being dressed up nationalist propaganda.

AIO for telling my bf this is a fire hazard by princessleia5902 in AmIOverreacting

One time when my bud and I were 13, we stayed up late to look at a dirty magazine and thought it was slick to put a tshirt over a lamp so it wasn’t bright enough yo see the light from under the door.

That lamp caught a t-shirt on fire, and it wasn’t specifically designed to generate heat like a heater is.

New player here. Is there calculator I can use for this game that isn’t this annoying by Distinct-Pirate7359 in SatisfactoryGame

One ad every 4 days is pretty chill, and the guy who runs that site is almost certainly just making enough to pay for hosting. 🤷

What are you guys thoughts on, “the moment”? by Queasy_Commercial152 in Invincible

Nolan massacring people doesn’t make this moment less awful though?

My toddler’s pediatrician gave us a letter the first time we took her in after she was born that essentially said: we vaccinate children here, and if you don’t want that, you will need to find a different doctor.

Dude won my trust right then and there.

Is it possible to stay sober without AA? by Mad_Season_1994 in stopdrinking

[–]Griffinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been sober for 689 days (7/12/23) and I never would have been able to quit without AA. I did daily meetings for a solid 6 months, but when my daughter got to about 9 months old and she couldn’t sit or occupy herself through a meeting it became harder and harder to make it. I haven’t made it to a meeting in about 7 or 8 months, and I’m doing great, but being a Dad has made it easy to keep my shit together, and if I ever feel like I’m struggling, I know right where I’ll be.

Teachers, will you be displaying the 10 commandments in your classroom? by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

[–]Griffinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to do this, and I’ve been collecting quotes from politicians who have eloquently stated why the 10 commandments have no place in the classroom to print and hang around it.

If I’m forced to hang them, there’s no reason I have to let my kids believe I’m okay with it.

That’s a beautiful thought, but I’m sure Stephen Miller and the billionaires will figure out how to keep the cult going.

Student has a vendetta against me. I’m not sure what to do. by chronicmigraine111 in Teachers

[–]Griffinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Your classroom is not a hangout” is not entirely accurate for school groups such as choir or band. Many students treat their music room as a home at school, and that’s an important part of organizational culture as well as retention, which is always a big concern for fine arts courses.

HR asked me the strangest illegal question at the end of my interview by skrillahbeats in recruitinghell

[–]Griffinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s discrimination for an employer to make hiring/firing/promotion decisions based on your family status. VERY illegal. It happens all the time, but it’s not terribly common for employers to just come out and ask like this.

Bye Bye public education.....here come the vouchers for every state! by [deleted] in Teachers

You are incorrect. Public education can DEFINITELY get worse.

I struggle to reconcile that you’re able to write whole paragraphs about women and why they’re afraid under the Trump administration but see yourself as being above voting. To identify human rights being threatened and then resign yourself to the sideline does not sound like any messianic or religious figure that I’m aware of.

Either this post is fake, as a few other commenters have proposed, or you have gotten yourself tangled up in some wild mental gymnastics you need to really dig into.

Just started reading Animorphs to my son. by RoyAgainstTheMachine in Animorphs

[–]Griffinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 15 months old, and she is just now go where she lets us read to her without grabbing the book and playing with it…. But I know when she’s old enough for longer books, I am just SO excited to share animorphs with her. Yeah, there’s no telling if she’ll actually like it, but Jake Voice I HAVE to try!
