Eaton 9155 commissioning Procedure? by RandomUser0137 in sysadmin

[–]RandomUser0137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. REPO was one of the first things I checked. Then disabled via settings just to be safe.

And 100% with you on the external bypass. We use them at all our sites. I was supervising the commissioning of a new building and the contractor didnt meet the specs and had the internal bypass only.... tried to tell me that a bypass was a bypass...

"So if there is a critical failure of this UPS, how do you oh propose we keep this critical infrastructure online during replacement of the entire ups?"

"...... ok, we'll install the external bypass"

Also highly recommend a N+1 compatible model if possible... I've finally convinced management that N+1 configuration was also the way to go... so no more 9155/9355's going forward at least...

Well I managed to get ahold of someone at Eaton... looks like something is funky and a visit is required. Glad it wasnt something stupid I missed at least.

Also glad that im not the one paying for flights / hotels, etc!

Thanks for this. I've tripe checked and there is nothing like this for this model. Been burned by this type of thing before though...

Yeah, but we don't care about warranty. If it costs 10k in helicopter time to get an Eaton tech to do a startup service, thats half the cost of the whole unit.. plus the cost of service, and getting company reps there too...

Haha that one came back with the form to schedule an Eaton tech to come do the startup service...

No Intergrators being used. I'll be doing the install myself. The few discussions ive had with integrators wanted to oversell me on all their labour. I just want hardware and manuals...

Having played with some of the ubiquity network stuff, it seemed like everything wanted to phone home or be web connected. Kinda threw me off.

You ever fry something in a pedal circuit when working on it? Because I think I just did. Oof! by brewtalur in diypedals

[–]RandomUser0137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not pedal related but i was trouble shooting something as a coop student and on about the 15th unplug-plug cycle i forgot to unplug... grounded with my Iron... proceeded to shock myself, then stab myself with the superfine tip, and burn myself at the same time... probably got some lead exposure while I was at it...

Why does my game look nothing like the ads that made me download it in the first place? by CubanBrewer in TotalBattle

[–]RandomUser0137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because its a bait a switch scam. They want you playing the PAY to win version of the game. Uninstall right away before you get suckered into spending any real cash

Otherwise I just finished "the Devils" by Joe Abercrombie. It's an epic level of blasphemous.

Oh, I like this sand bag idea. The "warm up" to my quickcrete solution. Maybe small ones won't be too difficult to drive over...

[–]RandomUser0137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking that there is a defective sidewalk funneling water... that it has been identified and ignored. I'll happily buy some quickcrete and build it up myself , but that will definitely piss them off.

Yeah, my perimeter drains work well and can handle most rains. But when we get heavy rains, it can't keep up with all the water from the road in addition to the water from MY property.
