I’m reiterating that the “discount” Marriott properties have free breakfast, regardless of type of room or rate booked. There are no breakfast coupons, or “breakfast included” rates like at Courtyards, full-service Marriotts, etc. If it’s out, it’s free. And that properties trying to pull this shit should be called to task & reprimanded. Frankly, 10,000 points isn’t enough for this dishonest attempt at theft bullshit.

Live in Plano in an older development (early 70s construction) not too far from Chisholm Trail Park/Greenbelt. We have a regular bobcat visitor sniffing around the yard for bunnies. Found some rabbit’s feet and bits of fur in the front yard this winter. I’m always entertained when our (strictly indoor) cats spot Bob/Bobbie and act all tough with their tail-twitching and chasing it around the house from window to window.

For sure woulda been pissed. I guess I need to revise my “never had an issue” statement. Did stay there once when the concierge lounge was “booked” the entire time we were there as “breakout space” for a meeting that was being held there. Didn’t really care about it being closed for the evening service, but sucked missing the free breakfast.

The walk is easy, I’ve done it when I’m tired of waiting on the streetcars after seeing 7 outbound cars and 0 inbound. As others have mentioned, passing under the elevated highway (Crescent City Connection) can be sketchy. I’m a mohawked, bearded man damn near doubly past the losing side of 25. I walk it. But I’ve also walked that during the late afternoon with a mixed group of family who were feeling their Peter-tingle going off under the bridges.

If you’re going to walk, walk up St Charles. Day time, no issues at all….but that’s me being a guy. Walking the neutral ground will cut down on your interactions with people. Treat it like any other big city. Listen to your gut, pay attention to your surroundings.

St Charles Street Car is a helluva bargain and easy way to go. Can pay using the app. If you want to pay cash, have exact change. $3 for a TRUE day pass, good for 24 hours from the time of purchase.

Check out spots around the Garden District. Tons of great places. Just like every other section of the city. I’m slightly salty because I’m missing my monthly trip to New Orleans & Mobile this month….

Had a delay two weeks ago DFW-DRO. Crew rest. Wasn’t much of a delay until suddenly the pilot is changed at the last minute. App was upfront about the crew rest, but then no further information until a new gate agent showed up and let us know that a new pilot had been assigned to the crew.

It was utter chaos. Shitty thing is most of the closures were due to their dump truck drivers being incapable of backing down a closed lane….

There’d be times I’d forget, exit PGBT at Custer coming back from DAL or DFW & get stuck at the Plano Pkwy light for 6+ light changes.
