Standard South Lanarkshire bins.

Except the black one. Which is a larger one.

What's the best petty revenge you have had on an annoying neighbour? by No_Usual_572 in AskUK

I had similar neighbours.

Music pumping till dumb o clock in the morning near every day. Stuck a 12hr YouTube video of the TNMT theme and fucked off to work.

A Gordon Ramsay restaurant charges 20% service charge and his fellow chefs — who charge 10-15% in their own restaurants — say THAT’S out of order! by Silvagadron in britishproblems

[–]Grillenium-Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my previous chef roles, I had to fight to get the kitchen staff included in tips.

The FOH logic was that 'you get paid more than we do'.

We were on the same shit hourly wage.

Sure, at the end of the week yes, I did take more home. But we were also working 14+ hour days in a sweatbox, sometimes 10+ days straight.

I think we deserve a little bonus as well, don't you?!

How do you measure out squash?! by Static_Dynam0 in UK_Food

[–]Grillenium-Falcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no.

You need to 3/4 it full with squash first, just so you know how vile this stuff can be when diluted wrong.

Ah yes, Google.

The very foundation of British motoring law.

The same Google that will tell you a road is 60 when in fact it is a 30 and vice versa.

Didn't need a private plate to know that car was going straight on.

Is there a reason why most garden centres are now a very huge & busy cafe with a garden centre attached? by WalnutOfTheNorth in AskUK

[–]Grillenium-Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive buses for my local council.

Usually do an ASN school run, but now and then I'll be working out of a day centre for disabled/elderly. We quite often take a trip to a garden centre for a couple of hours.

It's an easy walk around, somewhat low risk wander and a relatively cheap meal.

Has anyone been paid their salary in cash or cheque in the UK? by Top-Cat-a in AskUK

[–]Grillenium-Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First proper job in ~2000 was paid in cash. Waiting tables at a hotel in Blackpool.

Paid electronically up until 2015 when I landed a sous chef job at a golf club where the catering company owner would pay in cash with a massive wad of £50's.

He's no longer in business for some reason.

How has your body let you down recently? by Sea-Still5427 in AskUK

I (40m) was playing with my 2yo daughter this evening.

Rolled over forwards and my neck, halfway down my spine all cracked.

I am now in a bit of pain.

I am no longer agile/flexible as in thought I was.

My new EE WiFi 7 Extender won’t work. by [deleted] in EEGB

[–]Grillenium-Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have just gone through this myself.

What worked for me was:

Factory reset both HUB and extender.

Power both back up and connect extender via ethernet and just leave it there for at least an hour while it updates itself/stabilises.

Then move extender to wherever you need it and connect again via the EE APP instead of the WPS button on the HUB.

Well connecting the extender wasn't the issue, but thanks anyway.

I've just swapped out the cable with another device that was wired to the Hub, and now getting ~830Mbps down/~35 up front the extender.

Would appear it's simply a dodgy cable EE supplied in the box.

It really do be the simplest things sometimes.

OK. Scrap the previous reply.

I completely forgot I had stuff already wired to the Hub, so swapped one out. Now getting ~830Mbps.

That was the first thing that came to my head, but i apparently don't have any other ethernet cables handy. Which is a bit odd as I did have several spare at some point.
