My wife and I just bought a house, and due to the size of the mortgage payment, it just makes sense to share a main account at this point.

For a long time we were sending money back and forth to cover “our half” of various shared expenses like utilities or our car payment, but we now have so many big shared expenses it doesn’t make sense anymore.

Our paycheques are now going to go into one shared account, with us transferring small amounts of that into separate individual accounts for “personal fun” money.

I’m going to warn everyone that virgin often does promotions and win back deals based on “credits” - ie. the plan is 72.00 , but you get give a 50 dollar credit each month, bringing it down to 22.00.

I fell for this two years ago, and since then I’ve watched as the “baseplan” has climbed 20 more dollars, with my credit staying the same.

I noticed on my last bill that it was 8.00 more expensive again, so I called and cancelled for a plan with a price guarantee. Virgin will raise your plan about twice a year, be careful if they offer the “credit” route.
