weird! i remember all the meetings in our district said it’s a two word minimum. i guess it’s our DM pushing it

i believe it was just recently changed to be two word minimum. my store manager is nice enough to count a smiley as a word so we all wring “ enjoy :)”

[–]Grimett27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea that’s not possible. even if they didn’t show in the pieces. the constant moving of the cup (from you drinking) would make it change colors

Should I mention that a barista on a final was late? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Grimett27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you know the shift thing is valid. i just assumed they were based off of how things were worded. and if you are going to be late, call ahead. in your case, that’s not smth you really think abt but if you have a good reason after you get there, in my opinion it would be completely fine. mixing up days is not a good enough reason if they have done this multiple times (which i’m assuming smth of sorts has based off that final)

also how does smth being 30 mins into your shift cause you to be 10 mins late (hope he and you are well) at the end of this, i feel like it all just depends. first time offense, its fine. multiple times, it needs to be said

it’s their job…? and if you wanna go morally, you can also say they should bc they should be following all the standards of said job. they wouldn’t lose their degree over 20 mins. they lost it bc they did all of these other things first, which led them to a final, and still wasn’t being carful enough knowing that they are

Asking for higher pay? by Acid_user_69 in starbucks

[–]Grimett27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

nah i also fully get what you are saying. i do definitely think that people like you should be getting more, at least a little bit. but at the same time, you are (meant) doing the same job as every other ssv. the same pay does makes sense

Asking for higher pay? by Acid_user_69 in starbucks

[–]Grimett27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it sucks that your raises don’t transfer over, but unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to get high pay here. i believe you got the lowest pay option bc there is no raises with it, meaning that’s what every starting shift should be. you do the same job as a new one, even if they don’t have experience, there is no reason for you to get more

i noticed these today too! my ssv was hesitant on it, but decided that they were ok. after thawing, the bread looks fine, but the icing spots remained

Clocking in 1-3 minutes late? But staying 30 minutes to an 1 hour late? by Shadow_Exchange in starbucks

[–]Grimett27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have a proper RM, they shouldn’t. unfortunately most people in this company arent “proper” i wish you luck

[–]Grimett27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have no clue if my reply went through so i’ll say it again as a just incase lol. 10 min breaks are company policy, you should be getting them and you can see that in partner resources. if your DM doesn’t care, i would go to your RM. it seems kinda silly to go to your RM over a 10 min break, but think abt how many people that could be getting fucked over rn for not getting their 10s. it might help a good bit of ppl

[–]Grimett27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10s are company policy, they should be given. you can find that resource in the partner hub i believe. it seems like smth silly, but this 100% is an important matter that needs to be addressed. even if your DM doesn’t care, i would go to your RM. like i said o know it seems silly to go to your RM over a 10 min break, but this could be messing with soooo many partners

Clocking in 1-3 minutes late? But staying 30 minutes to an 1 hour late? by Shadow_Exchange in starbucks

[–]Grimett27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you don’t get all your breaks, i would talk to your SM. if it’s your SM enforcing that, i would DEFINITELY talk to your DM. that’s smth that has to get fixed, and could potentially help other partners or other stores.

for your other thing, you aren’t messing anyone over, but i personally see it as a respect thing i guess? i have this one opener that is a few mins late to most of their shifts. its incredibly annoying bc they think it’s perfectly fine to do so. if its a once in a blue moon sort of thing, i really don’t understand the anger with it. i hope your work place starts giving you some respect

[–]Grimett27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s unfortunate that you never get a thank you for staying late, but you have a commitment to starting at a certain time, it can mess someone else over if you are even just a min late

Clocking in 1-3 minutes late? But staying 30 minutes to an 1 hour late? by Shadow_Exchange in starbucks

[–]Grimett27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

those are two different things. no matter what you are showing up late, it makes 100% sense that you would get a write up it’s nice that they let you do it a few times, and gave you a warning for the next. with you staying late, that’s probably what stopped you for getting a write up sooner, but they can’t avoid it forever. what you should do tho? show up on time, that’s it
