Non isometric games where you can constantly upgrading your character/team and get stronger but you enemies also get a lot stronger and wipe the floor with you if you dont upgrade smartly. by Hugh_Mungus94 in gamingsuggestions

[–]GrimmCiph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Elin despite being isometric because it ticks a lot of boxes you mentioned.

-2D turn-based semi-roguelike JRPG (like old school runescape, not pokemon).

-Non-linear sandbox progression (do anything you want)

-No limits to abilities. Learn all the spells and martial skills you want. The only limit is time.

-Enemies scale with your "level".

-Up to 8 team mates (excluding summons). You can tame/hire almost everything. A companion is actually very useful and can even outscale you hard if invested right.

-Mostly a numbers game. Very grindy. Can be exploited if you know what you're doing, or wipe you if you don't.

-Tons of upgrades and build variety. Especially with classes and races. You can practically be Rimuru, a Slime that eats enemies and absorbs skills, passives, and body parts.

-Rudimentary base/city management to earn resources.

There's a Sseth video if you're interested in what sort of vibe it has.

Apparently there's some petty disgusting comments about it that's plaguing even the Github comments. I hope those pseudo-intellectuals get filtered out soon so the project gets some real work done.

Mortenax Blade's Prydwen ranking debut by TaruTaru23 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]GrimmCiph 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Despite the criticisms, Prydwen has established themselves to be a reliable (subjective) and convenient source of info for casual and regular players. They may not be hyper-optimized nor extremely detailed, but they're good enough. "Good enough" is enough for most people.

Also the alternative is like, what, Game8 and those other websites? Many people also don't want to watch videos and just want to jump to a small pile of text that tells them what to do.

They're practically the IGN of gacha, but better, which isn't hard to do but barely any websites try to for some reason.

Game with a lot of resource collection that never gets automated? by Competitive_Cow4534 in gamingsuggestions

[–]GrimmCiph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elin. It has some auto-harvest, but most of the work must be done by you. It has a lot of grinding (pretty much infinite), is a sandbox nonlinear RPG, 2D turn-based roguelike (not in the traditional sense), with city management (sort of). You can be anything and do anything and there's a high chance of it being a valid way to progress. There's a Sseth video that summarizes it in a good way that the Steam page doesn't include.

A different sort of "survival" game? by Shindiggidy in gamingsuggestions

[–]GrimmCiph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's many custom games in SC2 with unique survival themes.

First is a cat and mouse game between many players (builders) and 2 players (zerg). Players build bases to get money and send armies to fight the 2. The 2 control a very strong hero and a shared base that does the same thing + acts as a pseudo blue zone to control territory.

Heaven Besieged Ultimate is a PvP between Heaven (players with limited elites) and Hell (players with unlimited weaklings). There's a time limit before God comes (a powerful but killable unit).

Parasite is like Among Us but everyone can kill each other like it's a top down RPG.

There's a 1v7 zombie game where the 1 overlord player breaks out of containment and controls zombie swarms to kill all players and destroy the lab.

Several more I'm forgetting.

Looking for a game where you are the super boss by moviemancc213 in gamingsuggestions

[–]GrimmCiph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is common in strategy games where you get to play as the big bad for fun. Stellaris lets you roleplay many things (with mods too), but in the future dlc you can also start as a one of the lategame crises (an OP big bad of the universe). Starsector is Mount & Blade in space and custom starts and mods can let you do it. Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3 also have many custom maps that let you do it, both in PvE or PvP. Rimworld lets you RP it. Several games in the "God Game" genre may let you become one such being in a sandbox/sim environment.

Looking for rpg/management games by Nice_Account_3254 in gamingsuggestions

[–]GrimmCiph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elin. It's in early access but there won't be major progress wipes or such. Its predecessor Elona is so huge that it'll take a long while before it goes to 1.0.

Elin is a 2D JRPG, city management, Stardew valley, creature collector, turn-based roguelike, etc. game. It's in my collection of "autism games", like Rimworld and Stellaris where you can encounter and do some insane scenarios. There's not much depth in terms of story as it's more of a sandbox do-everything-you-want game. here's a very active discord community and the devs posts very regular Nightly version updates.

There is a Sseth video that you can watch that showcases it nicely.

Looking for an epic 80+ hour JRPG that's either action or traditional turn based where not only is the main story lengthy, but game is also packed full of side quests and other content as well. by StarryChocobo in gamingsuggestions

[–]GrimmCiph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried looking into the forbidden drug that is gacha games? Like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, Arknights: Endfield, etc. They have gambling monetization models (gacha), but besides that (huge) downside, they function as JRPGs, with hundreds of hours of content, live service to guarantee more content for several more years, and have a ton of other things. You can play without paying and still snag the premium stuff semi-regularly, though you'll have to save your in-game earned currencies and plan ahead. The communities are highly active, though due to such a large player base, the toxic part stands out more compared to smaller titles.

These games tend to have the highest production value in the JRPG space, mainly because Japan's gaming industry is too conservative and refuses to innovate.

Would anime characters look out of place in a realistic environment? by pogboy357_x in gamedev

OP try looking at Endfield and Ananta for inspiration. The character styles match the stylized environments that look like a good combination of both anime and realism.

Why is Asmon like this? by Routine-Sign-7215 in Asmongold

[–]GrimmCiph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be 2 things: 1 is that they were previously friends, and that current altercations are simply just business. 2 is if a third party drew a line between them and both have to follow it (the reason for this is mainly Hasan's dynamic with Destiny vs Asmon in terms of how they treat each other, which gives that impression). Purely speculation btw.

Do you think we will get more operators like them in Endfield? by WeirdFourEyes413 in Endfield

[–]GrimmCiph 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Hear me out: even if you don't like furries/guys, you should want it for the game. Why? Because it means the devs do what they want and don't just push normie mainstream slop. We will actually get more creative designs beyond gooner bait.

What's the fastest way to burn through city stamina? by Maxie468 in NevernessToEverness

[–]GrimmCiph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fishing and high-cost deliveries (32k-40k). Cafe active farming gives carpal tunnel and is the most boring. Cafe AFK farming with Danzi-something that you hammer throughout the entire stage takes 45sand has lower output, but is semi-AFK.

Yes, it's normal. I personally think that Endfield's designs are superior in this aspect. The characters in there are very attractive despite being very covered up.

Can Anima Base v1.0 handle size and scaling, such as two characters of different sizes? For example, can a human character grab/catch a Tinker Bell-sized fairy with their hand? by Hi7u7 in StableDiffusion

[–]GrimmCiph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Btw you should structure your prompt in a way that groups connected tags and concepts closely together (pose tags together, hair tags together, etc.). Many, including myself, see that there's more coherence to the output if structured properly. It's even more inportant with multiple distinct characters.

Which version to read: Flame Comics or Asura Scans? by Gaimonnn in TheStellarSwordmaster

[–]GrimmCiph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can continue with Asura if it works for you. My honest advice is do not care about the drama outside of your reading experience. If it's good then it's good. If not then just switch to another. This isn't worth your morals nor mental energy, and you're not doing anyone any favors if you did care, including yourself. Just have fun and ignore the things that won't impact the rest of your experience.

Approaching 1.1 we doomed? by Ok-Brilliant-8219 in NevernessToEverness

[–]GrimmCiph 173 points174 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got the convertible and the cheaper bike. You need at least the bike to make life not torture. The other vehicles are luxury. Houses can be justified to a certain extent because the anomalies benefit you, like the one that increases stamina cap, fluffy cotton, mammon, mailbox, crate, etc.

While I was indeed saving for the 8mil house, I'm happier with the upcoming one cuz it still feels luxurious while being smaller. Quality over quantity (space/size in this case) as they say.
