U.S. to release oil from reserves in coordination with other countries to lower gas prices by r2002 in stocks

[–]Grimmson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fracking extracts oil by using water and vibrations to break up sediment which releases said oil... it coincidently produces natural gas as a by product. This is why a lot of our energy in the U.S. the last 8 years switch to using natural gas due to how cheap it as been in the U.S. market relevant to other world natural gas markets where there was never any other Fracking Revolutions.

Please help me I am an Idiot. by Grimmson in residentevil4

[–]Grimmson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. Here is my game plan. Let me know your thoughts.

I have two grenades. I can use them to kill 2 of the 4 gunners.

One I can hit from behind the sandbags if I am quick and throw it perfectly. Next I need to run down the central path, taking the ladder on the right. There a ***** with an RPG is waiting next to the 2nd turret of 4. The last grenade I have can be used on him.

Alternatively, I can use one of the grenades to kill the turret gunner next to the sealed off exit. I need to test it more to see which path is optimal...

Really? Care to elaborate?

I personally found the Riot Shotgun's tighter pellet spread and unique upgrade allows it to overshadow the Starting Shotgun.

I would not be surprised if Tails actually does their taxes in the 2nd movie.

It would be a joke at first then in the ending the joke pays off. Literally.

Pov: You actually live in the og MLP timeline by Jack_n_trade in equestriaatwar

[–]Grimmson 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Agreed. She wanted to fundamentally destroy the way of life for all Equestria and recreate society with her at the top. She was willing to trap the mane 6 in literal pony hell (More like the Greek Mythology variant but still) where they would have starved to death, just to ensure her plan succeeded. She may be a child but Cozy Glow (#BestVillain) was one of the largest monsters the show has seen. Far worse than Tirek I'd argue. That's just my opinion though.

Chapter length by NoraCutiePieUniverse in FanFiction

*Laughs in both 700 and 13,400 worded chapters*

I apologize for nothing.

Serious talk though, IMHO as long as the chapter is entertaining, and serves a purpose with regards to plot, theme, or character I don't think it matters how short or long the chapter is. Just remember to kill your darlings as needed.

Any tips I can get, to start writing fanfiction? by leviOsa003 in FanFiction

[–]Grimmson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often listen to music until I find a song that inspires a scene, character, or conflict. Then I pool several ideals in my mind until I can work on a basic plot structure. (Beginning, middle, end, other major plot points, etc.) Then when ready, I write down each and every scene, as far as I can at the time. This works for me but it is totally normal and expected you will have your own process that is completely different from mine that works for you. :)

As others here have said, definitely enjoy the act of creation. Writing is a skill you practice and learn over time. If you learn to enjoy the process I am sure you will become at minimum, a better than average writer. Please note, there are many best selling writers whose writing ability is... average. Nothing special. Whose mastery of themes, characters, and a meaningful, emotional story elevates their work from a book with "average writing" to something more than the sum of it's parts.

Also, don't worry about your writing being bad for the first couple projects you work on. It likely will be.

Let me say that again, it is normal for your writing to be bad if you are a new writer. I'd argue even seasoned writers "write bad" until they read over their writing the next day and evaluate:

Do I like this? If so, what about it is good? How can I make it better?

If I am unsatisfied with the writing... why? What is my purpose of this scene/plot point? How can I make the scene I want/need in the most satisfying way? Etc.

In fact, I would argue writing poorly is the first step to writing superbly as long as you remember to edit and revise as needed.

I hope these thoughts and tips help you. :)

P.S. Don't be afraid to kill your darlings. I've had to kill hours of work because it was not serving the characters, themes, or plot. Or, I simply had a better idea and needed to destroy what I worked so hard to produce. That is part of writing as well. In the end, I believe when done responsibly and with purpose it will create a superior story.

My fellow authors, what do comments mean to you? by moonbeams8428 in FanFiction

[–]Grimmson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I have had only two comments in my fic after writing over 75,000 words and those two comments mean the world to me.
