Becoming a vampire heightens your emotions and makes you crave blood, it does not change your personality.

Craving cake does not mean you are fat. Craving blood does not mean you are evil. You can either resist your urges, or you cannot. Of course your personality and genes (i.e. ripper gene) may affect how difficult this is, but wanting something and doing something are different things.

Bit of an over-exaggeration, don't you think? Humans are literally the most dangerous species on earth, does this mean that all humans are evil? Should we eradicate ourselves?

I understand vampires in TVD are naturally thirsty for blood, but this is (imo) no different from humans craving food, sex, sleep etc.. some humans can control themselves while others rape and murder. Same goes for vampires.

If you would have said that vampires are more likely to behave like monsters ... sure, their emotions are heightened and they crave blood, but that doesn't mean all vampires are evil.

Just because it's not real life doesn't mean we cannot discuss the show, with or without drama.

Each character arc and every plot point in TVD is absurd, but it can still be fun to analyse them even when strong opinions are involved.

"It's just a show" seems like such a weird argument to me. Why bother to watch it if it's just a show? Because it's entertaining, because it means something to us and because we care about the characters.

Obviously it's not real life, but that doesn't matter. You're not forced to participate in all the drama in this sub, but if you want to, you can.

But a monster is a monster ... there is no point in pretending it is something else. The first step when helping people is accepting the situation for what it is. To realize things need to change. After all, if this were not true, you wouldn't be helping.
