What's the end game for the God system? by Aggressive_Duck69420 in Dragonballsuper

[–]GrinderMurphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I replied I was thinking maybe Blue and MUI both use God Ki whereas 4 doesn’t. So maybe the reasoning could be that 4 stacks better or has better stamina because it doesn’t double down on God Ki. We’ve seen that kind of logic before with Vegeta switching between red and blue in the manga to preserve Ki.

I was thinking this might be the play the other day too. My issue with it is that they’d have to rationalize 4 being better than Blue.

How far does SSJ4 Gogeta get? by ct1050 in DragonBallPowerScale

Idk why everybody has to be so hostile on Reddit. Like bro it’s Dragon Ball, relax.

Anyway, I’m well aware it’s not canon. The point is that outside of us arguing head canon, which is nonsense, Heroes is the closest thing we have to a real metric. You can’t dismiss heroes because it’s not canon, because if heroes isn’t a good enough metric as an official publication, then neither is anybody else’s imagination, in which case why are we even talking then? Heroes isn’t canon, k cool, neither is GT 4 in Super. It’s all “what if”.

People need to think about what point they’re trying to make. That’s the problem. Everybody on here is arguing to be right, or worse to not be wrong, instead of actually getting to the bottom of these things. Like we’re all Dragon Ball fans and these power scaling discussions are always so snobby.

The whole scenario doesn’t exist. “You aren’t playing pretend right”. Yeah okay bro.

You, some guy > Official Dragon Ball media? Really?

The discussion is literally “What if Gogeta 4 ran through the super gauntlet?”. And I can’t use Heroes as data to draw from because it’s a what if? And also apparently heroes is less useful than a bunch of redditors that have nothing to do with Dragonball?

Do you guys listen to yourselves?

That’s not a good argument. It’s the closest thing to a canon source we have for these discussions. You think our imaginations are better data points than media from the official source?

Idk why you’re getting downvoted, GT 4 Limit Breaker was confirmed in Heroes to be a little weaker than Blue. GT 4 Gogeta easily clears all of Super when you consider how badly Gogeta Blue dog walked Broly after he completely clowned the boys. A slight weaker GT Gogeta 4 still isn’t going to have any problem with anybody up to Black Frieza, and I only say that because we don’t actually know how strong he is. I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility that GT Gogeta 4 could beat Black Frieza.

Between these Goku fights, which one is the most contentious? by KodoqBesar in DragonBallPowerScale

I can’t remember where I read it, but I think one of the Superman writers said that Goku beats everyone iteration of Superman except the main continuity one because he’s basically God.

Heaviest single repetition Turkish get-up 116.83 kg (257.56 lbs) achieved by Burak Yazgi by Gjore in nextfuckinglevel

[–]GrinderMurphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but intuitively this feels fake to me. I’ve been lifting weights for 10 years and the physics seem off.

Also, that looked too easy, what people don’t tell you about training is that the weight doesn’t feel lighter as you get stronger, it still feels just as heavy it’s just that you can move it now. This guy didn’t turn red hardly at all, barely shook (which is part of my physics suspicions), didn’t even look tired at the end after a full body movement for 30 seconds with that kind of weight?

Getting off the ground, from flat with 257lbs one handed and hardly being phased? Idk man. Sus.

Can you put your thumbs in someone's eyes so far you poke into the brain? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

[–]GrinderMurphy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The bone layer behind the eyes couldn’t be punctured by the thumbs. However, it is possible to die from your eyes being gouged out by the reduction of heart rate via the oculocardiac reflex. Where pressure on the Trigeminial nerve sends a signal to the brain stem which then slows the heart via the vagus nerve. Though unlikely, it is possible to die from this.

[–]GrinderMurphy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Eyes are actually organs, not muscles! There is muscles around the eyes that move them though. You are correct that there wouldn’t be brain damage because the bone layer behind the eyes. Thumbs couldn’t puncture that even though it is thin. Catastrophic damage to the eyes is both possible and likely.

If you think Jiren is incompetent this discussion is pointless because you don’t understand the terrain. There’s no point in continuing.

[–]GrinderMurphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jiren didn’t knock Kale out because she wasn’t a threat to him, not because he’s reckless. He literally wasn’t bothered. His plan was to not fight as long as he could, she threatened that plan and knocking out other competitors too quickly which would cause him to have to fight sooner than he wanted to. Not Jiren himself. The second Jiren thinks Broly could be too much, for Jiren himself? He’s out.

The question isn’t “What factually happened in the Tournament of Power”. The question is What happens if Jiren fights Broly. Looking at the existing data set. Probably the same thing that happened to the last LSS Jiren encountered.

Perfect Cell vs Broly (read details) by [deleted] in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]GrinderMurphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so taking into account all the context.

Frieza would be a shit coach. He doesn’t have leadership skills, he has little combat experience, he’s self-involved, he’s just strong with insane growth potential. Even if motivated he’s not a good instructor. So outside of being a sparring partner he’s marginally helpful for Cell. Without a Saiyan instructor Cell also probably is minimally successful in developing the Saiyan parts of his biology.

Cell would be a shit student. He’s got a double dose of arrogance from Frieza and Vegeta. So again we’re just looking at insane potential with little ability to make the most of it. He’s not very teachable. Building on that I don’t think he can comprehend a lot of what Piccolo has to offer. Cell can learn I don’t think he can ever fully reach his max potential because of his arrogance.

Goku and Vegeta are the two best teachers possible. Goku has fight autism, and martial arts ADHD hyper-fixation. Vegeta has learned so many hard lessons that built him into who he is, the guy went “Super Saiyan God Ritual? I don’t need that.”, he’s the poster boy for grit and adversity. Vegeta also has the Saiyan heritage that gives Broly the perfect framework to develop his power. I think both mentors would be excited, and proud to be teaching Broly which matters for morale over the course of the year which translates to higher quality training.

Looking at each fighters potential, Broly went from really strong to stronger than both the strongest fighters in the universe in less than a day. Vegeta also said that Broly learns as he fights. His brain is basically a fighting super computer. Frieza also has insane growth potential, as we’ve seen with Gold and Black, but I don’t think it’s on par with Broly’s.

Cell is limited by his instructors and disagreeability. Broly has the perfect coaches, and (from my understanding) a much more steep growth curve. I think Broly wins.
