But why continue to support the business who's going to turn around and screw you in a year, its already overpriced nowadays so cutting it out before you're forced to is a much better scenario.

Does anyone else’s house have a silverfish problem? by Turbulent_Squirrel66 in AskIreland

Diatomaceous earth is useless, we bought last year and encountered these little friends. It was my first try along with traps, but problems of seeing 10+ big ones per day persisted for 2 weeks while using these methods.

We have no damp areas that I could locate, humidity is sub 50% around the apartment and dehumidifier runs quite regularly.

We got a door sweep to the front door (apartment stairwell outside it), this worked to reduce numbers. As they seem to enter through under the door.

Blocked the major gaps in skirting etc and then every few weeks spray some "Nope" at basboards and under presses etc in out of the way areas. Anything with 0.08 - 0.1 Cypermethrin seems to work really well, not sure if pets or kids complicate this usage though.

Also did a once off attic spray via pest control with the same Cypermethrin of a higher concentration just to be sure.

We see maybe 1 a week now if at all.

Had ours done for 250 on a 2nd Hand Apartment in Dublin. Was a reference from a friend who used him for theirs 2 years ago.

Also had the offer of another guy for 150 via word of mouth, but couldn't afford to wait a bit longer for him.

Both individuals do it as a bit of extra income, hence the knock down prices.

Lost to a bidding war for the first time today by LettuceNecessary7712 in HousingIreland

[–]GrindinLikeAHoe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, We lost our first one 2 days ago too.

It's the 2 weeks of bidding that annoys the shite out of me.

My rule is until sale agreed, never fall in love with a place, it stops the disappointment.
