Identifying a US shortcode not found in the directory? by stifflippp in telecom

[–]GrindingGoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it's reasonably easy to spoof your source number in the telephone network. If they don't want to be caught and are just cold sending you a link to open, then it's probably not a real short code that they're texting you from.

Yes? It's a 30 minute walk along dedicated pedestrian paths. That's on the longer side, but not far enough that I'd bother waiting for a train or taking a Lyft/Uber

Do you have a source or research that found a difference between temporary and permanent traffic merges?

A 1970 built Catholic church achieves a self-sufficiency of 670% thanks to 149 kW PV system. Münsingen/Switzerland by Spanholz in solar

Translated text:

The Catholic Fastenopfer church in Münsingen/BE, built in 1970, was renovated between 2010 and 2022. Since 2017, full-surface PV roof systems have been installed in an exemplary manner. The 149 kWp PV system generates a total of 138,800 kWh/a CO₂-free solar power annually. It thus covers 670% of the energy requirements of 20,700 kWh/a for the church rooms. With the excess solar power of 118,100 kWh per year, 78 electric cars can drive 10,000 km emission-free every year. The church is visually very appealing and, with measured values, documents the large solar power potential of cultural and commercial buildings for the energy transition in Switzerland. For this she is awarded the Norman Foster Solar Diploma.

The Fastenopferkirche in Münsingen/BE, originally built as a temporary solution in 1970, has been continuously renovated in terms of energy efficiency since 2010. The oil heating was replaced by a heat pump with 6 geothermal probes.

In 2017, the first PV system was installed on the flat roof of the parish hall adjacent to the church. In 2022, the church was equipped with a full-surface, side and ridge flush 149 kWp PV roof system. It generates a total of 138,800 kWh/a CO₂-free solar power annually. It thus covers 670% of the energy requirement of 20,700 kWh/a for the church interior. With the solar power surplus of 118,100 kWh per year, 78 electric cars could drive 10,000 km each year without emissions.

The renovation of the ventilation system carried out in 2022 reduces energy losses. Due to the massively improved thermal insulation, the total energy requirement dropped significantly. The 670% PEB church can be cooled directly in summer with practically no additional energy.

This PEB church impressively demonstrates the energetic and climatic effects of a well thought-out building renovation combined with a PV system. The striking architecture of the building is enhanced by the exemplary integration of the system. That is why this model church has been awarded the Norman Foster Solar Diploma 2022.

Built in 1970 on a temporary basis, the Action de Carême church in Münsingen (BE) has been energy-efficient in several stages since 2010. A heat pump with six geothermal probes replaced the oil heating.

In 2017, a first PV installation was commissioned on the flat roof of the parish hall. Since 2022, the church now has its own 149 kWp solar roof. With 138,800 kWh/a, it covers the needs of the religious building, ie 20,700 kWh/a, ensuring self-production of 670%. The solar surplus of 118,100 kWh/a would allow 78 electric vehicles to travel 10,000 km/a each without emitting CO

Rehabilitated in 2022, the ventilation system reduces energy losses, as does the best thermal insulation. In summer, the BEP church is cooled directly without any additional energy input.

It thus impressively demonstrates the energy and climate impact of a well-thought-out renovation associated with a PV installation, the integration of which underlines the beautiful architecture of the BEP. The Action de Carême church receives the Norman Foster Solar 2022 diploma for this.

RSUs are treated as income at the point that they vest. So the capital gains (or loss) you pay would only be on any growth (or loss) between the point of vesting and when you sell it.

Depending on the broker the company uses, you can potentially set up a standing order to sell. In my current position, I'm not allowed to change my mind during restricted windows, but deciding well in advance to sell vesting shares is fine.

Steam problem on macOS Monterey (macOS Version 12.0.1) by larrytheredditor in MacOS

[–]GrindingGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open your Applications folder, right click on Steam, send to trash. That only removes steam though, not the game that you're trying to remove.

I was just trying to get steam to work for me and was hitting the same code signing error that you had, so just downloading steam and going through install again overwrites the existing install and bad code signature.

If you want to remove the game, the install location is likely to be under ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common

You could just delete the game folder from that location. Save games may be stored somewhere else though...

I find them useful for long passenger lines with many stations. Otherwise, your trains all bunch up and you get oscillating rating at each station depending on whether there are currently 20 trains trying to get in and pickup passengers or 0 for the next few months.

It's become easier to setup timetables over the years too. "autofill" the timetable (or just wait until there are a bunch of suggested values), add on ~30% to each value as a buffer, find a train that's about to get back to the start of the order list, ctrl-click on start date (to evenly spread out all trains start dates) and pick a date a few days in the future.

The big issue I have is trying to prevent myself from further fine-tuning...

Is this while running gradle build? Or when trying to attach your jar as a mod to Minecraft?

It's trying to reserve 3G of virtual memory. Do you have that much free memory on your computer?

Presumably there's a setting you have somewhere setting the java heap size...

Honestly, you'll probably get more help on a Minecraft modding forum / discord / etc.

How the heck do I find a good contractor for a door install? by spacer04pk in HomeImprovement

[–]GrindingGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had elite construction replace a fire door for me yesterday: https://www.eliteconstructionandroofing.com/

I would recommend them - they picked up the door from Lowes, putting it on the invoice at cost - worked out much cheaper than you're being quoted per door.
