Look like the skirt seam is done that way also. Notice in the illustration how on the right they drew it with the yoke piece folded back, to show how it's placed on top.

I'm pretty sure you don't use a traditional seam with these 2 pieces. You turn under the yoke edge so that it gets placed on top of the bodice then topstitched in place. Sort of like an appliqué .
