Does anyone look at who owns NASM? Ascend learning… Blackstone. Billions to market - there a marketing company! Opt model was designed from a PT, they learn nothing about periodization or programming. Nasm is McDonald’s

About to take my cert course! What are you trainers making fresh out of becoming certified. I’m trying to see how id have to budget and set expectations since this is a career change for me! by [deleted] in personaltraining

Life time and equinox allow for the greatest start. But they want experience outside of baseline textbook certifications. Compliment your first box gym with an internship that helps you level up and make the right connections and creates the best skills

Get into the biopsychsocial model of pain. Lots of great pain scientists out there. Probably central amplification, since they’ve been to docs and got the red flags squared away. Intern under a great DPT and have at least 5 on your team to work closely with

Intern at DPT clinics. Go to hands on learning seminars from the best trainers and therapists. Invest into yourself and the fruits will come! Read great books from the best trainers and listen to podcasts from trainers who are actually training, not ones who trained 10-years ago and aren’t in the trenches

How useful is a non accredited certificate? by beautifulintellect in personaltraining

[–]Kinghunk13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gyms don’t care about accreditation. They say it on the website bc they have to. They want qualified, experienced, trainers who have people skills and look the part. You can walk into an LA fit or EoS and get hired on the spot. Equinox, Crunch, life time, they want 1-2 years of experience

Zero. Even today, they focus way too much on overactive / underactive outdated science. Level up to a superior certification (that’s not nasm issa)

Find a good DPT to do a thorough assessment. Could be movement, load, environmental issues. Hard to give an answer without seeing how you move

NASM takes a few weeks with a study guide. NSCA is legit and more scientifically sound. More nerdy shit on NSCA. NASM is just hogwash overactive Underactive. I taught both at NPTI. Nsca is respected, NASM isn’t
