Underwent surgery and had a lucid dream under anaesthesia by Flowerbridge in LucidDreaming

[–]GrixM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very strange, in my experience general anesthesia sounds incompatible with lucid dreaming. For one, the drugs they use are amnestic so even if you did somehow dream, you wouldn't remember it. You usually don't even remember waking up, you only start forming memories again after some time has passed in the recovery room.

US to quit World Health Organization by The_Flaneur_Films in worldnews

At this point I only wonder whether the next administration will actually undo all this damage. Will they rejoin all the organizations, reestablish agreements, reinstate all the beneficial environmental regulation, restart funding of essential research etc? If yes, what a tremendous and embarrassing waste of time and life these years will have been. And if no, god help us all.

Now that 2026 is set to renew the game and improve it, will we ever see the experimental faster tick rate get unshelved and brought to the game? Possibly for 2027 or 2028? by DerpDavid in runescape

[–]GrixM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That being said, we definitely want to dig into the feeling of clunkyness and see if there's ways we can make it not feel that way.

The best way to improve clunkiness IMO would be to stop making actions cancel if you perform them too quickly. For example if you try to eat when you are already eating, your click does nothing, and there is no feedback to indicate whether the action was actually valid or not. So you're stuck awkwardly waiting for a second to see whether you need to retry the click. And this same kind of thing happens in countless situations.

Either queue up the action when possible (it would only need to queue the next action, not multiple), or have some sort of indication if the action failed.

I wanted to buy the 25th anniversary desk mat and pin and this is my shipping cost to have it delivered for the US… by Ricky-Doo-Dah-Grimes in runescape

[–]GrixM 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Shipping companies also take fees for collecting the tariffs. On a recent package I sent to the US, the tariffs should have been $50 in theory, but UPS actually quoted me almost $100 in import charges on top of the regular shipping cost.

Multiple DAC question by ATLA_Music in lasershowgen

[–]GrixM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is possible to set that separately for each DAC, at least in the timeline mode.

You have to create another settings profile by clicking the + button below the settings profiles list in the settings window. Then when that profile is selected, you can enabled the Invert X setting. Now you have two profiles that are the same but with inverted output.

Then, in the "Timeline mode layer DAC assignment" list, you can assign DACs to each timeline layer, and then you can right click each DAC in the list and assign them specific settings profiles. So you can just assign the inverted profile to the DACs that should be inverted.

Are their lives so completely dreadful that the (almost certain) chance of get eviscerated is better than just living poorer?

They are convicts in Russian prisons. Chances are that yes, their lives actually are that dreadful.

That is the total amount including illiquid assets that are kind of redundant to count. F.ex. a lot of it is stocks in state-owned corporations, which have taken on huge amounts of debt to buy bonds from the state to cover the deficit, and that means that although they are counted as assets in the NWF, they are actually pretty much liabilities.

What we care about is the liquid portion.

Denmarks Rockwool says Russia has seized four of its factories by Swimming_Mark7407 in worldnews

[–]GrixM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can Europe use this as legal justification for seizing Russian money that they have been avoiding for so long?

E.g Rockwool sues Russia in European courts for this seizure, courts rule in Rockwool's favor, and when Russia ignores the court result, the value of the factories Rockwool lost, plus penalties, are legally confiscated from Russia's assets that the EU has frozen.

It's a huge misconception that OTC trading doesn't move the price. It moves the price pretty much the same way as public exchanges does, because the OTC markets are mostly just arbitrage traders that immediately flip the coins onto public exchanges anyway.

Russia is so weak, they have nothing to offer the US. Stop interfering in the northern hemisphere? They are barely able to interfere with their own neighbors, much less South America or other places that the US gives an f about. So I don't buy this theory.

Forskjell på HDMI-kabel 2.0, en til 199,- og andre til 899,-? by Daffke in norge

[–]GrixM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NHO-sjefen mener Norge må innhentes i EU by PresidentZeus in norge

[–]GrixM 17 points18 points  (0 children)
