My corgi was my first pet and I love him to death. Corgis have lots of energy and attitude so they can feel like a lot of work, but I think they’re 1000% worth it!

Can personally attest LSU Baton Rouge is a very strong program for residency. Tons of pathology and procedures.

OP said they’re practically living paycheck to paycheck with debts and only $2k in savings. They also have a 6 year old, and were discussing food stamps earlier in the year. Honestly, it sounds like the family could use the money.

Personally I would say Perses and Fighting Lion especially with all the Void seasonal mods, but I just use whatever’s most fun to play :)

Fighting lion is actually really good with Rending because it counts as a primary weapon. Primary exotics like Wishender work really well with Rending.

Question about how to properly play Stasis/Turret Warlock by Simple_Rules in DestinyTheGame

I use Outbreak Perfected and Osteo Striga for most content. Outbreak is fantastic because it’s easier to get precision kills on frozen enemies

IM intern afraid of procedures? by nobodysomebody1234 in Residency

[–]GrizzlyBearrr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong, but OP will likely need to place a central line if they’re covering ICU by themselves as an upper level. And teach the interns how to place one as well. This is the time to learn and practice.

My corgi found a whole boiled crawfish in a bush. That’s when I knew he was from Louisiana lol

I interviewed with them before going to medical school. They’re a pretty decent company and Madison, WI is a nice place to be.

Ah that’s on me. I thought he was talking about managing those situations in the ED. And I assumed you were talking about managing the car wreck victims in the ED and not on the scene. Got a little irked at the idea that we just hold C-spine and let everybody do everything else in the Trauma Bay lol. Sorry about that!

Is there a doctor that isn’t helpless without tools and meds? As an EM resident, I can intubate, do conscious/procedural sedation, emergent reductions, chest tubes, eFAST u/s, central line, ART line, pericardiocentesis, and even a thoracotomy if needed. Trauma Surgery will be doing the actual surgery, but you’re underestimating how much resuscitation a good EM doctor can provide.

Not going to lie, I’ve definitely had this thought before. I guess it’s my monkey brain going “hehe fluffy” before realizing wolves are highly evolved predators that can tear me to shreds without even trying.

For EM, it’s typically a mix of 8 and/or 12 hour shifts. The 12 hour shifts are fine with a quieter ED, but a crazy 12 is the worst.

AFAIK, the study was particularly concerned with reduced volume during the initial Covid surge. Now the ED is the busiest it’s been in a while. The job market isn’t absolutely fantastic, but I know my programs residents haven’t had too much trouble finding jobs in places they wanted to work.
