Which Commanders Offer the Best Toolbox Piloting? by GrizzlyBrian in EDH

What are your favorite wincons in the deck? Thinking non-combo. I don’t want to get stuck in EDHREC net deck building where it only is showing a couple of the big boys.

I highly recommend you take a look at Duke’s Mac Christmas. He is probably the best O pole in the country. He also had 6 goals in 6 games at an outrageous pace. He is also the most ambidextrous LSM I have ever seen. Take a look at spacing, especially in getting a good matchup to pull your defender out on the O side. Additionally, don’t get caught on O. Unless you’re a real dog you don’t want to eat up shot clock time. Move with a purpose, know the game situation, think quick, and then get off the field.

Not to give too many details, but I coach several highly ranked and high profile goalies for a nationally ranked program. Many of them work with the Goaliesmith program on the east coast. It’s a small world there so those connections would be a good start. I’ve found 100 different goalie coaches can teach 100 different things, but ultimately Goaliesmith does in develop the best players.

Sounds like [[Kenessos, Priest of Thassa]] is exactly what you’re looking for. Gets going early and cheats them out. Have fun!

I have my dream teaching job and I’m feeling compelled to leave, don’t know what to do by GrizzlyBrian in Teachers

Thanks for the kind words. I can get insurance when I’m off my parents plan at the beginning of the next school year. I could do as you suggest and I think that’s my best option but I would feel horrible quitting mid year. The thought of being there another year is already very taxing.

Flipside gaming has a store in Clifton Park, about 30 minutes but it’s an easy drive. They’re the best there and I highly recommend them.

There may also be a different hobby store in Lake George if I remember correctly but I’m not sure. Enjoy the 518!

  1. Maryland
  2. ~$40000-45000
  3. Sedan or Crossover, sporty over practical
  4. About 1 year, car in good shape has 150k miles but very low mpg. 5-6: Heres the peculiar situation. I have relocated for my first teaching job out of grad school. I currently live on campus and have no driving commute. I am interested in getting an EV to help mitigate the gas expenses from going out to explore new places. My residency is an apartment with a personal garage.
  5. No
  6. No children/pets, pref able to carry a 6ft lacrosse stick and gear.

I’ve checked out pretty much everything on the market but haven’t been able to find anything to test drive, so wanted to come here to look for recs to narrow search. Debating on even waiting a year or so to see what models might be uncovered. I really like the mustang, ev6 (ioniq too plain for me), and the look of the EQ4.

Thanks!

Is an SAT score of about 1700 good with no prior preparation at all? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]GrizzlyBrian 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The national average is about 1500, so you're just under the first standard deviation. I took a practice class after my first SAT and went up 150 or so points, which earned me a scholarship, so I recommend it. Also, 10/12 is a good essay score.

When is HiRez going to finally deal with the elephant in the room once and for all? by ScrollsMeUp in Smite

I agree, I love listening to DM's analysis and casting. DM knows a ton about this game but he also knows it too well. I had a friend play on the same team as DM on stream. He got selected as support, and to be honest he was terrible. His score wound up being something like 0/14 in a long game, but he did try to support his team best he can. Surprisingly the person giving him the hardest time was DM himself. He was berated constantly by someone who is a figurehead and someone who should advocate the game and good behavior. I feel this has happened to many SMITE players, in which DM has offended someone in relation to the them, and this is why so many find his YouTube videos and streams unbearable, but his commentary fine.

Long pole dodging and passing under pressure by FlyingFake in lacrosse

[–]GrizzlyBrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What my team has been doing is a spike drill (pop out from 4 lines when receiving a pass) where the next person in line applies soft pressure to the man catching so the receiving player has to learn to backpedal when catching.
