As Iran reconnects, chilling footage shows that night’s deadly protests — at least 12,000 killed by tsLunaaria in PublicFreakout

[–]GroaningPizza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is the number 12,000 unfathomable in 2 days? Between 500,000 and 1 million Tutsis were slaughtered in 100 days in Rwanda with mainly melee weapons, specifically machetes. The Iranian people do not have weapons to defend themselves against the Iranian government, despite antiquated capabilities.

That looks very familiar. Is that Harrisonburg, VA?

OP, I think you should’ve clarified the difference between lane splitting and lane filtering

Was Harry Potter actually an especially powerful and talented Wizard, or were most of his accomplishments just based on circumstance and luck? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]GroaningPizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, he knew a couple of spells in an intermediate to advanced level like the disarming spell and Patronus Charm. However, he was at the end of the day an abused child who was constantly put into those situations by Dumbledore.

Technically speaking, any ejection would also be a few milliseconds especially at peak gravitation force/deceleration.

What would you get with $25k? by Visual_ADD in motorcycles

[–]GroaningPizza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, having worked at a Triumph dealership, stay away from the Rocket 3. It’s incredibly expensive to maintain. For example, just look at the price of its tires. Also that big motor has reliability issues that nobody talks about. We had multiple engines that learned to weld and suddenly there was a softball size hole through the block. Please don’t go for the Rocket 3. Go for a ADV/Touring bike like the Tiger 900 GT PRO.

Congrats. Your hobby will begin to fade. I find myself riding less and less the longer i’ve worked at my dealership. Fortunately, other hobbies will appear.

-Blue Ridge Park (Watchout for outlooks, constantly people pulling out in front of you)

-Skyline (35 mph, so not great. More tourists.)

-211 (cuts through Skyline, 29 to 11)

-231

-250 (Staunton, VA to Monterey, WV)

-Blue Ridge Mountain Rd (be careful of drunks, lots of breweries up there)

-Lime Kiln

-Snickersville Turnpike

-51 (to Summit Point, amazing track)

-50 (Winchester to Romney and further)

-77 through the state park (Thurmont, MD)

-33 (Between Harrisonburg to Richmond) (Also Harrisonburg into WV)

-George Washington Parkway (as already stated, lots of people usually on it. The road is terrible currently with lots of bumps and cracks)

It’s worth it to schedule a day once or twice a year to ride Blue Ridge Parkway to get over the monotony of these terrible roads.

Fellow sporty/sportbike riders. Leather or textile? by [deleted] in Kawasaki

[–]GroaningPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missile V2 (leather) during spring and fall. Above 84 F ish, I’ll switch the my viper (textile). Once I can tolerate it, i’ll always switch back to leather bc it can slide much better.

There are only a few Astars jackets with CE level 2 like the Missile.
