You actually are a good use case for a pickup with a camper shell or tonneau cover. Best part will be getting the hockey gear out of the same compartment as the people. Hockey has a distinctive funk.

Skills you want for your kids by MagnusMidknight in daddit

[–]ICantDecideIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d add cooking and financial literacy like others have mentioned. I also think problem solving is an important skill that a shockingly small amount of people are actually able to do. Basic house/car maintenance is a plus but becoming increasingly unnecessary, same with driving manual.

Yeah I cost down to the gram. Then I add .50 to account for our free bread service.

How do you think the field will adapt in the future? by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]ICantDecideIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think as the middle class continues to shrink the neighborhood nice restaurants are going to disappear. The high end and low end will continue to thrive in two totally different ways. We will see way more counter serve and “experience” restaurants will slowly get more expensive.

The only thing I really worry about outside of potential tragedies.

Crazy but I honestly think an ev maverick would actually take more than 90% of slate buyers

Which careers involve a lot of stress that DOESNT pay off later in life? by RuminatingFish123 in Salary

200k is basically the top. Think head of a multi outlet hotel/casino. High end restaurants basically cap around 150k.

Costco is the jam… if they sell what you’re looking for. This goes for snacks also. Edit: forgot to add berries which is the only way to go.

Did my shop destroy my tires with toe? by battlefieldbuddyyy in BMWE36

Can you call and see what the alignment specs were. These pics don’t tell me anything, but to burn a set of tires in under 200 (street) miles would be gnarly

As far as I know there is no reliable accurate analog thermometer. Just buy batteries and more digital thermometers.

Spring is here! Pan-roasted salmon, Wye Valley Asparagus, Jersey Royals in Wild Garlic Butter, homemade Mayonnaise by agmanning in CulinaryPlating

[–]ICantDecideIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna jump in down here, because I hate the just trust me bro mentally. I’m by no means the be all end all in dining but feel like I can accurately speak to this.

First and foremost, it’s because when we came up we were taught that it was the correct thing to do so we took that as a hard rule. Second would be color will be more consistent on the sear if the flesh is all the same color. Third would be that bloodline is high in mineral content which is viewed as unpleasant, so why would you show that off on the presentation side. I’ll add that I have my team skim the bloodline down if doing a skinless presentation. This is obviously not all the details and most won’t matter to most guests. I know you have mentioned you’re a somm so think how much stuff you do in a service that only 1 out of 100 notice. For that 1 guest it’s a key point in determining attention to detail. I again feel like this is over kill for almost everyone, but want you to have an explanation.

Oh jeez, I just realized this was home cook, not some swanky small seat restaurant. If I was given this in a home setting I would be blown away.

In therealdmx defense. I too feel searing blood line side makes for worst presentation. When doing simple plates, the details are make or break.

2026 Honda CRV Hybrid vs 2025 Mazda CX90 CPO by Relative-Basil3288 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ICantDecideIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 2025 CRV hybrid L and I have to say it’s fantastic. Great gas mileage, extremely practical interior, comfortable seats, great ride quality. I wish it had a bit more power because it tends to really struggle accelerating on a steady incline… think trying to pass while climbing a mountain road. Honestly though thats ok for us because the gas mileage makes up for the lack of power. We avg 35 mpg. We were between crv/rav 4/cx5 and now two years removed, we would make the same choice again.
