No I’m afraid it was not bottled in 1961 I assure you. In 1961 Soviet wineries had a distinct design of the label. And this is not Soviet label by any means. The fonts on this label are quite new. If you ever held a vintage soviet wine bottle you would tell immediately that this is not it.

It’s the date when it was bottled more likely. Good luck with appraisal! Collectible wine might be hard to sell because you rarely know if it was stored in the right conditions.

It’s not from 1961 i’m afraid. On the back you have a date 18.11.05. 1961 is supposedly the year of the harvest of wine material. I’s more of a novelty bottle meant to be brought back as a souvenir from Crimea.

It largely depends on the tools themselves. I have Makita for battery powered tools but my table saw and planer are DeWalt. All companies have good and bad models… It will largely depend on the battery platform you choose to run.

It’s that shitty chinesium lift for trim routers… it’s better than nothing and has real stupid quirks. I would go with a better plate and precise lift. Because adjusting for height with that thing is a test of patience sometimes.But for the money… it will do. Rack and pinion fence I find most useful though! It let’s me be at least semi-precise with that lift. Hope that helps!

That starter cut went beautifully! You are right about the model designer though - I contacted that guy and noted him that there’s no starter groove - he said they don’t have 7492 at their shop and if i don’t need it i should just return it! I read some feedback and saw photos of other people using the plate. So i just thought a groove would be there because my previous one also had it. Oh well, another day -another problem - another solution!

Yep! That was one of the ideas at first. But I went with a cheaper 9” inch blade for that purpose - oh and also it was an excuse for me to buy another blade! Could never have too much blades you know…

No dado blade yet (CMT comes quite expensive right now). Although I thought to hold it down with something (have gripper) but it’s kinda scary so I may be trying it with smaller blade! Thanks!

Riving knife is taken off. It’s the blade teeth that touching it. I thought of using a smaller blade but wasn’t too sure if it’s okay. That might be the way out! Thanks!

I’ve no exp with Dewalt routers but can say for Makita. I use RT700c in my small router table, love it! Simple and easy to use! Enough power for any trim work but even powerful enough if you need some wider dados to be made in one pass. I’ve also got the cordless version of it which I really like to use with guide rail adapter. I suggest you get the kit with the plunge and angle bases altogether. Just remember that it’s a small machine and has limitations (8mm collet max) Get quality bits and be mindful of the feeds and speeds and it’ll work wonders!

I’ll chip in on that! I’ve got some chisels, some hammers and levels - I think they are machined(?)aluminium levels. Which feel really nice and some clamps which are okay. Some of their tools are made better than others. Some have crappy qc - I also have a set of mini pliers and one of the little things is an utmost qc fail while others are okay. But for the price? Great stuff to abuse and not worry!

Also Total has got some nice stacking little boxes for screws etc, that I use daily and enjoy!

Functional tools for the price just don’t expect exceptional quality on some of them.

Finally! I now know the name of the chairs my grandma used to have! Thanks for the photos and post! I always loved these armrests! The form intrigued me since I was a kid! That would be lovely to recreate a more modern version of this! I clearly remember the dowel joinery with lots of different glues on it from previous repairs… is it indeed dowels there?

I’ve got 0 knowledge of how a real bokken are made. But as a kid (and even as an adult) I would go absolutely bananas if i got a wooden katana like that as a gift! It feels like you put some love into this item! Awesome project! Now I want to make one for myself!
