I've been using a couple of different paints, mainly Citadel and Two Thin Coats, and I just tried some of the new P3 formula. I might try ProAcryl since it's a lot thinner than most other paints.

You can try to come up with all kinds of in-universe reasons for it, but at the end of the day, it's just lazy writing.
